Submit Your Winter Course Proposals!

Six more days to submit a course proposal for Winter 2025! The course proposal form is live through Saturday, August 31. Winter Term starts January 6th and runs through March 14th. There is time to plan and bring your thoughts to life. OLLI at SOU members are looking for courses in history, literature, science, and so much else. We're a curious bunch! Winter weather is not a problem if you're teaching a course online. Bring your ideas or passion to OLLI in the form of a winter course.

We are looking for instructors to teach a 3–4 session course in arts, history, or literature at our new location, the Rogue Valley Manor. This is a wonderful way to engage our Medford OLLI at SOU Members--and the facility is lovely.

If any instructors are interested in teaching at The Rogue Valley Manor, please include that in your course proposal, or contact the OLLI office at olli@sou.edu or (541) 552-6048.

Priority Registration Course Assignments

If you participated in Priority Registration, notification of the classes in which you're enrolled and/or waitlisted will be sent on Friday, August 30.

If you do not see notification in your email by Saturday, August 31, here are two tips to check your lottery assignments:

1. Check your spam or junk mail folder.
2. Sign into your OLLI at SOU account and click "My Account" in the upper right, then choose 4. Course List. This will show which courses for which you are registered and which you are waitlisted.

Once you have your Priority Registration results, take another look at the OLLI at SOU Fall catalog, and see what else you'd like to take when Open Enrollment begins Tuesday, September 3. At that time, you may add as many classes as you like from the dozens of courses available.

• As you review your schedule, please promptly request to drop any courses that you decide not to attend in order to open up space for others. Just email the office at olli@sou.edu with "DROP" in the subject line and provide the name of the course(s) you wish to drop or call 541-552-6048.

Save the Date: OLLI at SOU Movie Matinee

Check our OLLI at SOU homepage and the OLLI at SOU Facebook page on Tuesday, August 27, for our Fundraising/Friend Raising Event registration link. We will watch Beetlejuice Beetlejuice together at Varsity Theatre!

The movie begins at 1 p.m. on Monday, September 9. Tickets are $20 and include movie admission, popcorn, and a drink. Friends of OLLI members are welcomed and encouraged to attend! They do not need to be members to purchase a ticket.

Proceeds from this event will go to the OLLI at SOU Annual Fund, and you get to enjoy the company of other members. We suggest you arrive by 12:30 p.m. to get your drink and popcorn. Varsity Theater is located at 166 East Main Street, Ashland. A no-host social gathering will take place at Growler Guys following the movie.

New Website Coming Soon...

Our OLLI at SOU team has been hard at work creating a new and improved website for our members.

More information will be coming soon, but for now, look forward to a new website the second week of September!

THANK YOU to our Open House Volunteers!

We want to thank all of the wonderful volunteers who helped with the OLLI at SOU Open House on August 6. This event was a huge success, with approximately 700 people attending. Many hands make light work, and that was true of the Open House this year. We are grateful for all of the hard work our many volunteers put into it.

We are grateful for the team of Anne Bellegia, Peg Evans, and Margaret Pashko, who have served as the main Open House planners for the past several years.
