Emerging Campaign Award
The Emerging Campaign Award is presented to a business / organization that hosted a first-time United Way Workplace Campaign, re-established and/or enhanced its campaign in support of the community.
As unanimously voted upon by United Way Blackhawk Region's volunteer Campaign Cabinet, Frito-Lay has been selected as the Emerging Campaign Award winner.
Frito-Lay achieved its largest workplace campaign in more than a decade, increasing total dollars raised by more than $27,000. Wow!

Excellence in Advocacy Award
The Excellence in Advocacy Award is presented to an individual/program that strives to create meaningful change and demonstrates measurable progress toward improving lives and strengthening our community.
This year, we recognize John Pfleiderer. John has led Family Services of Southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois for decades. During his tenure, we’ve come to know John and forge a partnership that can be relied upon. Through challenges big and small, we have journeyed with and been grateful for, John’s generosity of spirit in partnership.

VOLUNTEER. Geraldine Hedberg Volunteer of the Year Award
The Geraldine Hedberg Volunteer of the Year Award is presented to an individual for their outstanding volunteer service to United Way Blackhawk Region.
This year's honoree is Tom McCawley, Vice President Beloit Health System.
Tom serves as Vice Chair on United Way’s Board of Directors and is slated to reprise his role as Chair in 2024. A passionate advocate with perfect attendance, Tom has already completed two, three-year terms on the board (with a year off as required by Bylaws) and served as its Chair in 2021. His volunteer resume also includes annual Day of Caring participation, loyal and informed community grant review panelist, service on the Executive Committee, and Building & Property Committee. He has a wealth of knowledge on all things DIY and our requests for assistance with projects big and small, keep his skills honed and sharp.

LIVE UNITED! Live United Award
The LIVE UNITED Award is presented to a company that displays exceptional support United Way's mission through its workplace campaign and volunteer support.
Ecolab is a valued and long-time United Way partner, dedicated to making our world safer and healthier. The creative employee coordinators at Ecolab consistently deploy best practices in their workplace campaign, leveraging fun themes and special events to drive participation year after year. In 2023, Ecolab attained 95% participation in its campaign. In addition to generous financial support, Ecolab's volunteerism extends to Day of Caring, service on the Campaign Cabinet, and United Way's Board of Directors.

Last year, Stateline Family YMCA logged over 250,000 reading hours in their youth programs, supporting early brain development. Thanks to your generosity and grant funding from United Way Blackhawk Region, the YMCA is able to reduce school-aged care rates in Beloit to make care more accessible for families.

Congratulations, Erin Davis!
United Way Blackhawk Region's Director of Corporate Campaigns, Erin Davis, was selected as one of YWCA Rock County's 2024 Women of Distinction.
Erin's volunteerism began in high school which laid the foundation for a desire to bring about positive change. With a Bachelor's in Human & Social Services Administration and a Master's in Public Administration, Erin's professional experience includes positions at the City of Janesville, Janesville Mobilizing 4 Change, and the House of Mercy Homeless Center. Erin is a member of the Janesville Lions Club, the past Chair of Community Action Inc.'s Board of Directors, and a graduate of the Leadership Development Academy.
