Outstanding natural acidity in the mouth, with citrus and floral aromas. Notes of green apple, grapefruit and pineapple.

New: Ramon Bilbao Crianza 2019

Country: Spain

Region: Rioja

Grapes:100% Tempranillo

Aging: 14 months in American oak

ABV: 14%

Winery notes: To receive breath, to turn things around, to reach delirium. We all have ways of defining inspiration. We, however, have preferred to stop talking about it and create a wine with a small part of it. Crianza: The wine that inspires.

Tasting notes: Ruby red in color with violet hues. Clean and sharp in nose. Aromas of fruit, both black and red with nutshell and floral notes. The barrel adds aromas of sweet spices, nutmeg, vanilla and even hints of cinnamon. Pleasant and juicy on the palate. Medium weight, medium acidity and well- integrated. The fruity and spicy notes reappear on the finish.

James Suckling 90 points

A medium-bodied Rioja with milk chocolate, bell peppers, lavender, blueberries and cinnamon on the nose. Creamy and sleek, with fine tannins and a fresh finish. -James Suckling

Pairing: Charcuterie and mild cheeses, beef and lamb, and even blue fish, ham pizza, mushroom dishes, and salmon.

clementino-liqueur image

New: Caffo Clementino Della Piana

Liqueur of Calabrian Clementines

Country: Italy

Region: Calabria and Limbadi

Ingredients: Botanicals include clementine peels and saffron

ABV: 30%

Clementines, a cross between a bitter orange and a mandarin, are known for their aromatic peels and almost seedless, sweet flesh. The clementines grown in Calabria are widely considered to be some of the very best, hence their protected geographical indication (Clementine di Calabria IGP). Caffo continues its tradition of capturing the very best of Calabria’s agricultural bounty with this dimensional orange liqueur.

Clementines are sourced from La piana di Gioia Tauro (the Gioia Tauro plain), a lush and historically rich area located just north of Reggio Calabria and known, in part, for its cultivation of olives and citrus.

Tasting notes: A nose of clementine oil, whipped cream, and orange sorbet leads to a dynamic palate of clementine peel and flesh, tapering into citrus-oil bitterness before lingering with a pleasant hint of warming spice.

Pairings: Use as a cocktailing component or simply enjoy, as they do in Calabria, over ice, topped with tonic or club soda.
