About the Program

With all of the money and fame that comes along with success in sports and entertainment, many famous athletes and celebrities turn to pre-marital agreements to protect their assets and navigate the complexities of their high-profile relationships.

A prenup for a celebrity or athlete can:

  • Ensure privacy in the event of a divorce
  • Keep their assets separate
  • Maintain their name and likeness as a separate property asset
  • Pre-determine spousal support

This CLE will provide an overview on what the "celebrity" prenup can provide using real world examples. This knowledge will help you best advise your famous clients before they marry.

This program is presented by the Entertainment Law section, chaired by Jeff Monahan and vice-chaired by Matthew Hobbs and co-sponsored by the Family Law section, chaired by Ashley K. Quan and Ava Jahanvash. The Entertainment Law section is sponsored by Lawyers' Mutual Insurance Company. The Family Law section is sponsored by White, Zuckerman, Warsavsky, Luna & Hunt.
