The Eastern Sierra is springing back to life after an incredible winter. Aspen are budding with new green leaves, wildflowers are starting to pop up all over the place, and waterfalls are gushing with snowmelt!
A summer-like Memorial Day weekend unofficially kicked off another summer here in Mono County (and wow, are we ready for it!). Tons of
events are happening now through the fall to complement the smorgasbord of things to do: fishing, hiking, biking, climbing, birding, golfing, kayaking, SUPing, and even skiing! Yes, skiing - did you hear?
Mammoth Mountain is going to be open into August, and kids 12 and under ski free until the end of the season!
If you need help planning your trip, give us a call at 800-845-7922. We're happy to point you in the right direction for the perfect Eastern Sierra adventure!

Our beloved Bodie has reopened for the season! Due to earthquake damage, services are limited - currently no water is available, and the restrooms are closed (outhouses and portable toilets are available). Please pack plenty of water along with your hat, sunscreen, layers, snacks, cash for the Park entry fee ($8 adults, $5 kids)...and camera, of course!
Read more about Bodie here or watch the video on the right for a quick tour!

Fishing season is well underway! As the weather and water warm up, be sure to read about current conditions in these
fishing reports --
great local resources with pictures of some pretty good lookin' fish, too.
June is Learn to Fish month, and a great time to visit before things ramp up in July. Before July 1st, Mono County will have stocked almost 5,000 pounds of catchable and trophy trout in local waters (in addition to
stocking by the CADFW
, private marinas, and Visit Mammoth), and will stock another 17,000 pounds by the end of the season!

Roads & Mountain Passes Update
The snow is melting rapidly, though, and many roads are completely snow-free or plowed. Crews are also working hard to clear the formidable amount of snow on the still-closed Tioga and Sonora Passes, getting closer to reopening every day. Plowing on Lake Mary Road up to the Mammoth Lakes Basin has also begun, but there is no estimated completion date.
For up-to-date conditions on which roads are open, the status of the closed roads, and photos, check out our
Road Conditions Update - with information from Caltrans, Yosemite National Park, and Mono County. Give us a ring M-F and we can help you navigate: 800-845-7922.

News on Hiking Trails
Many trails are still under snow, but here are a few that are thawed out and ready to help you break in those new hiking boots. Check with a local
visitor center and ranger station for more ideas and trail reports, and please remember to always practice
Leave No Trace principles. Happy hiking!
Sherwin Lakes (pictured): Switchbacks give you amazing views of Mammoth Mountain and beyond, leading you up about 2.5 miles to the very-full Sherwin Lakes.
Parker Lake: About 2 miles to the lake, this relatively easy trail has a steep beginning before flattening out alongside the creek all the way to the stunning lake.
McGee Creek: Out-and-back and snow-free for a few miles, the trail winds up along the rushing creek which is lined with beautiful green aspens. The wildflowers should be exploding here soon!
