May 24, 2024

Dear Saint Andrew Catholic School Families,

It is hard to believe the 2023-2024 school year has come to an end! Each year seems to go by faster and faster, for sure!

We had a great last week of school, which began with the Candle Lighting & Robing Ceremony, the 8th Grade Graduation & Mass on Monday, the 5th & 6th Grade Performing Arts group play and Praying the Rosary on Tuesday, Step-Up Day and the Pre-K4 promotion on Wednesday, the 7th Grade Tour of Fort Worth field trip & End-of-Year class celebrations on Thursday, celebrating the final Masses of the school year and the K – 7th Grade Award Ceremony this morning. Now everyone is ready for the Memorial Day weekend and the start of summer break!

Final report cards will be mailed to families by the end of next week. We look forward to welcoming 62 new families and 108 new students (as of today) at the New Family Orientation on June 19th.  In the coming weeks, we will be sending communications to all families regarding the start of the new school year.

Finally, thank you all for making it another great year at SAS! It is a blessing and a privilege to lead this great school and be part of this parish community. I look forward to next year and beyond and am excited for the continued growth and development of SAS. I pray you all have a wonderful, relaxing, and safe summer break, and I look forward to seeing you all at Mass over the summer and in August for the start of a brand new school year!

Saint Andrew, Pray for Us!

Blessings,

Laura Behee, M.Ed.

Principal

Summer Reading

Please click on the link below for the required and recommended summer reading selections for all rising Kindergarten – 8th Grade students. Please refer to the grade-level your child will be entering in the fall. There are no summer assignments (6th - 8th graders should annotate) to complete and turn in on the first day of school. We do ask that parents complete and sign the Summer Reading Acknowledgement form, confirming that your child(ren) read the required reading.

The goal is for students to enjoy and experience the selection. Teachers will spend time at the beginning of the school year reviewing the required reading with students.

Summer Solutions

Summer Solutions is back – an excellent way to keep your student on track! This program is a spiraling review designed to bridge academic content and basic skills over the summer months. The key is to do one page per day so the skills can be practiced over the course of the summer.

Summer Solutions options include:

  • Math
  • Reading
  • English
  • Spanish
  • Study Skills
  • Problem Solving

You will have the option of choosing “original” or “standards” versions. We would recommend the “original” version for all subjects.

IMPORTANT: If you choose to order, please make sure to choose the Summer Solutions for the grade level your child is currently in for the 2023-2024 school year. For example, if your child just completed grade 4 this year, you would choose the grade 4 level summer book(s). All summer books should be the same book level they worked on this year in school as Summer Solutions is considered the 3rd semester for the current year.

Please click HERE to order.

Home & School Association News

The Home & School Association Uniform's Resale will be excepting donations of gently used uniforms over the summer. Drop off any out grown uniforms in usable condition (no holes or noticeable stains) to the “resale drop off station” located in the office foyer during Summer office hours.

Donation rule of thumb: If you wouldn’t put an item to be worn by your child to school or Mass, resale can not sell. Be on the lookout for our emails through the summer months letting families know of upcoming dates for summer resales.

Thank you Megan Corpening for chairing our SAS Uniform Resale!!!!

Please contact Megan if you would like to help with Uniform Resale, have special requests or have questions. megan.corpening@gmail.com.
