Dear Saint Andrew Catholic School & Parish Community,
Happy Friday! It has been another great week and here we are almost the middle of April!
What a great start we had to the week with all the excitement around the Total Solar Eclipse on Monday. Students, faculty, and staff had a great time either heading outside to observe the eclipse or watching it in real-time on the monitors in the classrooms. As we celebrated this once in a lifetime event, all students were given solar eclipse glasses and treats consisting of Moon Pies, Sun Chips, and Capri Sun juice drinks. Thank you to Mrs. Bauchman-Lopez for capturing the eclipse on video and Mrs. Harrington for organizing the purchase of the glasses and treats, and for taking photos around the campus during the event. Check out the video and some of the photos below!
Progress Reports for 4th Quarter will be emailed to parents next Friday, April 19th. Please be sure to check FACTS/RenWeb frequently and contact your students’ teacher(s) directly with any questions or concerns.
We were notified by the Catholic Schools Office this week that our 2024 – 2025 Academic Calendar has been approved. We will be publishing the calendar next week and will email it to all families. The Meet the Teacher event will be Monday, August 12th (4pm – 7pm), and the First Day of School will be Wednesday, August 14th.
The Spirit Games hosted by the Stephen Breen Memorial Foundation and all the Diocesan schools is coming up on Sunday, April 28th at Nolan Catholic High School!! This is a huge family event with plenty of fun for everyone! The day will begin with Mass at 11:00AM in the Arena at NCHS, followed by games for all ages, and of course, food. The day will conclude with closing ceremonies at 2:00PM.
Help Saint Andrew Catholic School win the Diocesan-wide school contest for the highest percentage of participation at the Spirit Games by pre-registering your family here. Pre-registration is $15 and includes a spirit wear shirt. Family max is $75! Spirit Games t-shirts may be worn by our faculty and students every day except Mass days beginning Monday, April 15th through Thursday, April 25th (no school on Friday 4/26), and any Spirit Wear day through the end of the school year. We hope to see all Wildcats there!!
Have a great weekend everyone!
Saint Andrew, Pray for Us!
Blessings,
Laura Behee, M.Ed.
Principal

Merit Stones – Volunteers Needed
For the past 20 years, SAS has a tradition of providing each student with a special merit stone to take home at the end of the school year. The merit stone includes the student’s name, school year, teacher name, and a special quality about the child chosen by the teacher. It is wonderful to keep all the stones from your child’s time here at Saint Andrew Catholic School and see all the attributes that make them who they are!
The Merit Stone Committee is looking for volunteers to help write the stones. If you are blessed with the gift of great handwriting, or if you just want to help, please email Tara O’Keefe (tokeefetcu@gmail.com) for details on how you can help. Depending on the number of volunteers, the writing takes about three hours, but you are welcome to stay for as little or as long as you want.

Parents are invited to eat lunch with their child on their birthday. We respectfully request that lunch only be brought for you and your child.
