From our Chair...
Happy Holidays to you!

As we begin to celebrate the season we are reminded of those we lost in the Saugus High School tragedy in November and know that they will never be forgotten. Our entire Santa Clarita community came out in force to support #SaugusStrong and together we lift ourselves out of the sadness. Here at WiSH we are in high gear to help make a difference in the weeks and months ahead. We are here to help them heal.

In addition to raising the funds to quickly put Wellness Centers on the Saugus and Arroyo Seco campuses (centers currently in process), we are dedicated to supporting mental health on all our district campuses. These centers provide safe havens to speak with counselors, unwind, de-stress...they are tech-free places to find resources and information, listen to short seminars on a variety of topics from professionals (such as dealing with anxiety), provide triage services, take yoga, meditation and more. We are proud to work with a district that understands that mental health is equally as important as physical health.

We are working with generous individual donors through our website and corporate community donors to provide items and services that Saugus needs, including Westfield Valencia Town Center , the LA Kings , Home Depot , GHP Management Corporation and Oakridge Landscape, Inc . We could not do this without you! If your company is able to help us provide Saugus with a permanent Wellness Center location on campus (portable and associated services), we appreciate you reaching out to us at WiSH@hartdistrict.org.

There are many ways to give to support the Saugus community (please CONFIRM fundraising sites are legitimate before you give!) - the #SaugusStrong website provides some links. Dollars donated to WiSH through our #SaugusStrong link on our website or our Facebook Page will be 100% dedicated to providing items and services related to the Saugus tragedy. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit, WiSH donations are tax deductible.

Our mission is to take care of EVERY student, and to that end we have funded a variety of programs this year including but not limited to:

Next Generation Science Standards Equipment
Libraries
Music Programs
Literacy Programs
Digital Arts
CPR Mannequins
Defibrillators
Concussion software for student athletes
STEM Pathways
IXL Intervention Software
Underserved students' college fair

Every single student in the Hart District has benefitted from WiSH funding. It is our great pleasure and honor to support the most valuable asset we have - our young people.

Giving
This has been another banner year of giving for WiSH! While our mission provides for 100% of our funds to be spent on our students in schools throughout the Hart District, the range of programs we fund is broad to allow us to benefit as many students as possible.

Because of that, our Board has decided that our funding focus of the year be STEAM, which encompasses Science, Technology, Engineering, the ARTS and Mathematics. At WiSH we feel strongly that no matter what a student's strength is - whether science, dance, design, writing - or any other subject - they deserve to be supported and provided with the tools they need to succeed in the classroom.

Our funding comes from many sources in addition to WiSH fundraising through individuals, corporations, grant funding and events. We work with many corporations and individuals to provide directed donations to a particular program or school and in many cases organize and connect need with outside donors. This allows us to provide vastly greater benefit to our students than we might otherwise be able to do ourselves. This year we are proud to work with so many generous donors, including:
