BoardNew Board Members
iLCP is pleased to introduce the two newest members of our Board of Directors, Mario Davalos and  Jeffrey Dorman . Both Mario and Jeffrey were voted onto the iLCP Board at the May 2, 2016 Board Meeting.

Mario was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and is the founder and CEO of Capital DBG, one of the largest and more important advertising agencies in the country. He was appointed CEO of Havas Worldwide Caribbean in January 2011. Mario was elected president of LIDAP (Liga Dominicana de Agencias Publicitarias, ADECC) from 2012 to 2014 and has been a regular speaker at universities and design schools in the country and the US.

An accomplished photographer and writer, Mario has authored two short story books and two photo books. His writings have been published in the New York Times, Diario Libre and El Caribe and his photos have appeared in Outdoor Photographer Magazine, Wildlife Photographic Magazine and Discover Wildlife by BBC.

Mario's 15 years in marketing and his background in art, photography and literature make him a great fit for the iLCP Board of Directors and we are delighted to have him as part of our team!
Jeff Dorman is the Executive Director of the Farallon Institute in Petaluma, California. Jeff works closely with Farallon Institute's Board of Directors and senior scientists to provide support for current projects as well as develop new directions of research and outreach for the Institute.

Jeff's research interests center around the biological productivity of the California Current and how changes in climate might impact future productivity of this region. His research experience includes field sampling of zooplankton off northern California as part of the CoOP:WEST program and physical and biological modeling of the California Current ecosystem while working with the Farallon Institute.

Jeff has extensive teaching experience with Sea Education Association, San Francisco State University, and at the University of California, Berkeley. He earned an M.A. degree from San Francisco State University and a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.

We are delighted to welcome someone with such credible scientific and non-profit management expertise to the iLCP Board as so much of our work is approached from a science angle.
BlinkWant to Hire an iLCP Fellow?  Use Blink!
Are you looking to engage an iLCP Fellow Photographer for a last minute photography assignment? The first place to go is the iLCP Blink page which offers a real-time map of where the participating Fellows are currently located!

Blink.la is an online platform that enables media companies to discover, connect, and engage with a global network of professional photographers for contracted editorial and investigative work.  We are happy to offer this service to our Fellows for listing themselves, as well as to our Conservation Partners who often seek help in locating our Fellows for new assignments.

And of course, if you can't find someone in the part of the world you are interested, since not all of our photographers are yet signed up on the platform, don't hesitate to contact us at info@ilcp.com and we'll see what we can do to help!

HumanHuman Cost of Energy Expedition
lighthawk

iLCP is excited to be partnering with the Environmental Integrity Project (EIP) and long-time iLPC Partner, LightHawk on the Human Cost of Energy campaign. This project aspires to bring heightened awareness of fracking's external costs, including the conditions in which those disproportionately impacted by energy production live, work, and play, by weaving the art of conservation photography at its finest with compelling journalistic storytelling.

The expedition is set for the last two weeks of June in southwestern Pennsylvania and western Maryland with the participation of Senior Fellows Garth Lenz and Karen Kasmauski.  We look forward to sharing the images with all of you when they become available!
