Abortion Businesses Ignored Pandemic Order
Edwards Administration Failed to Enforce

Citizens: Email Gov. Edwards
Healthcare Professionals: Sign Letter to Gov. Edwards
Updated state health orders went into effect Monday allowing nearly all surgical procedures to resume. With this, abortion facilities are open. But sadly, they have been open for weeks, and we are left scratching our heads, confused as to why the state failed to enforce its own orders.

For six weeks during the previous health guidelines that mandated all non-emergency procedures be postponed, abortion facilities refused to stop elective abortions. Louisiana became the South's COVID-19 abortion destination as other states took action.

But even in the face of reports from citizens and legislators, Gov. John Bel Edwards and the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) took little action. And this was with the 5th Circuit permitting Texas to postpone abortions.

Weeks after the order was put in place, Attorney General Jeff Landry, who previously made a statement encouraging action , spearheaded an investigation and submitted a report to LDH. The only public document we have been able to obtain shows the investigation determined the Shreveport abortion facility was callously making a blanket determination that every one of its "procedures" was an emergency. In response to this, instead of directing the abortion facilities to cease and desist, LDH requested a corrective plan of action. While we have yet to see a followup report, eyewitnesses have seen no change in the operations at the facilities.

We believe much more could have been done by Gov. Edwards to enforce his health order on abortion facilities that blatantly disregarded it. Not only was the lack of decisive action concerning, but the only public comments on the subject by Gov. Edwards and State Health Officer Dr. Jimmy Guidry were confusing.

We respect all Gov. Edwards has done to fight the coronavirus. We recognize that his administration has been consumed with that important task. But physicians and facilities who endanger public health and safety by ignoring pandemic precautions must be held accountable.

TAKE ACTION

Will you get at least 20 people to pledge to vote for the Love Life Amendment? Pro-abortion groups will be spending lots of money to confuse voters over the next six months. We can combat that by personally telling people about the amendment. Our goal is to get at least 20,000 people to pledge to vote. We currently have 10,640. First, you can pledge to vote yourself. Then, text, email or post to social media asking friends to pledge to vote. Finally, ask your friends to ask others to pledge to vote.
The vote for the Love Life Amendment is just six months away. Join our brief regional calls to review strategies for how to effectively campaign for the Love Life Amendment. All calls are at 7 p.m.
