The City of Lakeville is completing a citywide study of roadway crossings for people walking, rolling, or biking to determine locations for future improvements.
These could include locations with an existing crosswalk that requires additional enhancements (e.g., rectangular rapid flashing beacons) or places used by community members to cross a road that does not currently have any infrastructure in place but may require such improvements.
The study’s objective is to create a uniform process for the city to identify, plan, and implement crossing improvements for people walking, rolling, or biking throughout Lakeville. This process will be solidified from the study’s findings and lessons learned. The Lakeville Pedestrian Crossing Study began in April 2023 and will be completed by the end of the year.
