So who can complete the DSP Toolkit?

The answer is... ALL of the above!

However, the Registered Manager will always have a general oversight of the Toolkit. But, you can delegate within your wider team to complete sections of the Toolkit to specific team members, the whole thing or different questions to the relevant person(s).

You could use Digital Champions from within the team, the Deputy Manager, Administrators, IT support (if you have it!), Board members and Caldicott Guardians.
DSP Toolkit 1-1 Bookings with Angie and Maria
In the lead up to the DSP Toolkit submission deadline on 30th June 2024 our DSPT/Digital Local Support Officers (LSOs) will be getting very busy with 1-1 bookings to support, advise and provide guidance to submitting your DSPT for the first time or republishing your DSPT on time.

Now is the perfect time to arrange a 1-1 in-person or remote meeting with either Angie or Maria to get organised, make an action plan and keep on track. It's often more straightforward if you've submitted before and even more so with a helping hand!

Publishing for the first time?

If you have only completed the 26 mandatory questions for Approaching Standards you will be asked to complete and upload an action plan based on the remaining questions you have to answer to get to Standards Met.

If you have completed a Standards Met assessment by answering all 42 mandatory questions, you will not need to upload an action plan.
Completing your Data Security and Protection Toolkit for the first time

Location: Zoom
Date: Tuesday 9th April , 3 - 4pm
Republishing?

You need to review and republish your DSPT at least once a year. You need to review, update and save any changes to your previous questions, you then will be able to republish your submission. You must reach at least Standards Met.

You cannot republish at Approaching Standards. See the guidance on answering DSPT questions – including which questions are mandatory for Standards Met.
Headquarter's Assessment?

If you are publishing or republishing for multiple sites, you can choose which of your branches to include when you publish your Headquarters Assessment. The list of your branches should reflect your CQC registrations.
Multi-sites but not a headquarter?

If your organisation is not flagged as a headquarter, but you previously published on behalf of other sites in your last DSPT, you will see sites within your CQC registration and any other sites you asked the DSPT helpdesk to add in the previous year. This will enable you to publish on behalf of all or selected sites.
