Greetings!

I have so much to tell you! I'm going to send out another email at the end of this week to fill you in on a bunch of exciting news!

While I'm working out the details, I've got to send out this short email to tell you about a super fun Badass Women of Wichita event we have coming up on October 22nd!

So many people have told us that Monday evenings are hard for them to make, so we're having a special Saturday event on October 22nd!

Join us for a fun scavenger hunt to discover known and unknown women of Wichita who make our lives better. You can put together your own team of two to four people for the hunt or create a team at the event.

We're meeting at woman-owned The Monarch at the roundabout in Delano at 11 AM. You'll have some clues to solve with your team to plan your route before we dash out at 11:30.

Teams will earn points through actions like taking a picture, solving bonus clues, making it back to home base the fastest, and more! All teams need to be back by 1:30, so we can tally up the points and award FABULOUS prizes! And, of course, celebrate the badass women of Wichita!

Can't wait to see you all at this fun event!

Badass Women of Wichita Alliance

The purpose of the Badass Women of Wichita Alliance is to join together women of all ages in our inclusive society for discussions and actions that build community, empower women, and develop our badassery. We help promote nonprofits, community organizations, and professional associates that support women and families.

What is a Badass Woman?

A badass woman is a resilient, confident, bold woman who knows her mind. She is sexy, she is funny, she does what she wants, and she doesn't need anyone's approval. Being a badass is about knowing your own worth and not letting anyone else mess with that. It's about taking control and becoming the best version of yourself.

What about men?

While these events are developed around issues and topics that are specific to women, all genders are welcome. We love men and value their alliance and respect.

Our Programs:

We celebrate badass women with different kinds of programs! All programs are open to the public. Registration for our events is $10 and may be paid in advance or at the door.

Class with Headmistress Jill of the Finishing School for Modern Women

We work on our badassery skills with Headmistress Jill for networking and focused classes on a variety of empowering topics we’ll announce in advance. Classes are fun and interactive and include handouts and a graduation badge for completing the program.

Panel Discussions

We moderate panel discussions with two to four local experts on a topic decided in advance. In the past, we’ve had panels on gardening, handling stress, and women’s health.

Celebrations

We host fun, festive celebrations for our members. The events celebrate specific times of the year, such as making fairy crowns for the summer solstice. Or to blow off steam, like dance parties. Or to create new connections, like a Get to Know You Bunco party.

Fun-Raisers

We create fun-raisers for non-profits, community organizations, and professional organizations that help women and families. These events always have an interactive component to make it more fun to attend. For example, we played the Price is Right game to raise money for the Kansas Food Bank and made puppy print art to help Beauty and Beasts Animal Rescue.

We are currently accepting new sponsors for our events. Contact Jill Miller at jill@finishingschoolformodernwomen.com for more information.
