Summer Fun...or Sensory Overload?
Summer is coming. That means more time spent outdoors, perhaps barefoot, playing at a park, swimming in a pool or the beach. But for children with sensory issues, this time of year can be especially challenging. Check out The OT Toolbox, with an extensive list of sensory activities and suggestions that address each sensory system.
From School Year to Summer Break
Summer vacation is different for every family. The transition from the school year to summer break is a big change that means different routines in every aspect of a child's life. Special needs children are especially dependent on the routine and structure that school provides. We are sharing a previous blog post on this topic with the hope that it will offer some helpful tips on making the transition a bit easier.
