Special thanks to Julie Gilmore for being an active, hands-on, and visionary leader on the Arts Council of Placer County Board! We appreciate the three and a half years she served on the ACPC Board, and we are glad Julie will continue participating with our grants program. She continues her support of the arts as well through her donation program as a realtor. Thank you Julie for being a valuable member of the Arts Council of Placer County. |

The almost 100 year old iconic theatre is now being scheduled for restoration. You can still enjoy the Cocktails & Cinema Street Party, that will go on as scheduled Saturday, June 3. Meet Grant Recipient
Educator Melissa Whitney
ACPC Grant funds were used to facilitate sewing projects at the Colfax Elementary School’s Winter Club. The club ran from January-March 2023. With the grant, Melissa was able purchase supplies for this program and not have to buy everything "from her own personal funds," as teachers so often do!
"I want to thank ACPC for their support of the sewing class at Colfax Elementary School. The kids enjoyed the class immensely. I was surprised at how passionate they were about sewing! Hopefully I can offer other classes in the future—"

Meet the Artist
David Karnes
Featured header artwork provided by David Karnes. Born and raised in Sacramento, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art with an emphasis in Digital Art from California State University of Sacramento. Whether he’s at work or winding down at home in Lincoln, with his wife Marleyna and his Daughter Magnolia, he never stops creating. His work mostly consists of Pop Culture icon portraits that move him—whether it be for a laugh, or a storied character that cuts deeper than one would think.
