Happy Community College Month!
April is Community College Awareness Month

Southern State is proud to join more than 1,000 community colleges across the nation in celebration of Community College Awareness Month.

As we reflect on past accomplishments, let's also take some time to familiarize ourselves with Southern State's mission, vision, and strategic plan in order to continue the great work we do for our students and the communities we serve.
Southern State is committed to its mission to provide accessible, affordable and high-quality education to people in southern Ohio.
The vision for Southern State is to produce student outcomes and superior service that render SSCC indispensable.
Solar Eclipse - April 8, 2024

On April 8, 2024, a rare total solar eclipse will trace a narrow path of totality across 13 U.S. states - including parts of Ohio. People within the 124-mile band within the path of totality will experience the full solar eclipse over nearly five minutes as the moon casts its shadow on the Earth as it passes between our planet and the sun.

Required Training
Cybercriminal activity is among the most significant threats facing any organization. Education institutions are not exempt and are becoming common targets for ransom and other cybercrimes. Cybersecurity Awareness Training is mandatory for all SSCC team members with computer access.

As we have done in past training experiences, the Cybersecurity Training selected for this Spring is available through the Dayforce Learning Platform. You can access the training by logging into Dayforce (formerly MyEconnect) and selecting "Learning" from the navigation menu.

You will have until May 10, 2024, to complete the assigned training.

It is recommended that you complete this training on your desktop or laptop. If you have additional questions please contact Tyler Bick at tbick2@sscc.edu.
