We hope you will join us in welcoming a new baby to our congregation. Emmet John Kogge will be arriving sometime in July and his family - Meagan, Dan, and sister Ava are busy getting ready for this blessed event. You can find details of what they need for Emmett at their baby registry.

Debbie Boisvert and a team of party planners are working up a joy-filled celebration for the Kogge's. If you would like to help with those preparations, please contact Debbie at 703-489-7091.

Card Making Workshop May 7

Do you like to make your own cards or would you like to learn how? Come and join this new monthly group at Kaleidoscope - and bring a friend, spread the word. Supplies are provided for this free event. Donations are always welcome!

A box to place your cards to Rev. Denise Bates will be located on the Welcome Center table. If you would like to make a donation, please make the check payable to Henry Fork Service Center.

Our church leaders signed a covenant in 2018 that we as a church, affirmed the importance of healing and defending God‘s creation through our worship, learning and teaching, lifestyle, and involvement. This year we applied for the Green Church Award given by the VAUMC Board of Church and Society. And again, this year we have won the Sustaining Green Church Award due to our activities in the past year. We will receive our award at the Annual Conference in June at the Hampton Roads Convention Center.

Some of the highlights of our activities last year include:

Pat Watkins's visit for Earth Day Sunday.
Installing the final three smart thermostats which saves the church electricity.
Crazy Crayon Recycling Drive.
Recycling Kroger Flexible Plastics.
Leading a WW class and showing the Pope’s movie, The Letter, A Message of Our Earth.
Maintaining the Harvest Table.
Sponsoring the Blessings of the Animals.
Offering Earth Baskets as a Glorious Gifts Too selection.
