The centuries old art of Kokedama is a form of Japanese garden art that is tied to the practice of bonsai. The name Kokedama literally translates from “koke” meaning moss, and “dama” meaning ball. The roots of a plant are bound within a ball of clay soil, which is wrapped in moss and secured with a twine or similar binding. They can be fixed to a platform, placed in a decorative bowl, or suspended from string.
This interesting and fun planting method is perfect to create a personalized gift, or can simply make an interesting accent for a favorite plant specimen. You can create a single showstopper piece, or even make an indoor hanging garden. Each piece is unique and brings such a beautiful touch of nature into your space.
In this workshop you will practice the art of Kokedama yourself, creating your own custom piece to take home. We'll provide instruction, assistance, and all materials! Advanced Ticket Required.
