Registration is now open for Charlotte County Government Academy—this free one-day course is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 13, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Centennial Park Recreation Center, 1120 Centennial Blvd. in Port Charlotte. Government Academy provides opportunities to learn about the departments, programs and services under the Board of County Commissioners. Go4Golf is kicking off our fall league on October 1st. Format will be 2 person best ball teams lasting 7 weeks with the last 2 weeks for playoffs. On this NATIONAL DAY OF SERVICE (Saturday, September 30, 2023) the three GFWC Woman’s Clubs of Charlotte County (Punta Gorda, Port Charlotte, Rotonda West) will host a FOOD DRIVE (non-perishable goods and monetary donations) at the GFWC Woman’s Club of Port Charlotte clubhouse at 20271 Tappan Zee Drive between the hours of 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm. Back pack Kidz, the Homeless Coalition, and local food banks will receive all proceeds.
