Dear Preschool Supporter:

It's hard to believe that another preschool year is coming to an end this month at LAUP preschools throughout Los Angeles County. All in all, more than 10,500 LAUP preschoolers will celebrate this important accomplishment with their teachers and families, and they should be celebrated because this was no small achievement.

It's no secret that one of the biggest challenges facing advocates of high-quality preschool education is how to secure strong support among policymakers amidst calls for additional investment of resources into early childhood education programs.

LAUP is inviting residents to support efforts to increase accessibility to affordable quality preschools by buying tickets to an upcoming Los Angeles Dodgers baseball game against the Chicago Cubs.

Nearly 70 preschoolers participated in a Chivas USA Parent and Me Soccer Clinic on May 23 that was organized by LAUP as part of efforts to emphasize the importance of exercise, and drive home the message to parents about the importance of fitness.

Gov. Jerry Brown recently released an updated proposal for California's budget that would cut thousands of children from child development programs and make it more difficult for families to find quality care.

It's the kids. We do it for the kids. And that is where your donation goes: to programs, classrooms and quality education that directly benefits the kids of Los Angeles County. Your investment in the children of our community pays a lifetime of positive returns. Your donation, no matter what size, helps another child move that much closer to obtaining a high-quality preschool education, which prepares them for a successful future thanks to the proven benefits of preschool education. On behalf of all the children of LAUP, we thank you for your donation and welcome you to the LAUP family.
