Dear Preschool Supporter:

If you're like me, then you're enjoying this time of the year, when the arrival of spring is a welcomed occasion. It's a time when we appreciate a sense of renewal, as well as a renewed commitment to causes we feel passionate about. In my case, helping children receive a high-quality preschool education is my passion, knowing it makes a difference in children's lives every day.

LAUP in April will be a featured participant on Jumo/GOOD Maker. We will be competing for votes in order to receive a $2,500 grant that we will apply towards the expansion of our obesity prevention initiative, a program LAUP is now calling Fit by 5.

LAUP invites the public to attend three upcoming forums in Compton, Newhall and Sylmar, during which candidates running for the California 38th, 39th Assembly Districts and the 44th Congressional District will describe their positions on issues of great importance to residents in those communities.

Santa Clarita Mayor Laurie Ender paid a special visit to Newhall District State Preschool on March 2, where she encouraged the children to learn how to read and expressed support for the importance of early childhood education.

As the lead teacher at Gaines Early Childhood Education preschool in Paramount, Charlene Landry uses an approach when educating her students that is simple, yet very powerful and critically important to the children she serves.

It's the kids. We do it for the kids. And that is where your donation goes: to programs, classrooms and quality education that directly benefits the kids of Los Angeles County. Your investment in the children of our community pays a lifetime of positive returns. Your donation, no matter what size, helps another child move that much closer to obtaining a high-quality preschool education, which prepares them for a successful future thanks to the proven benefits of preschool education. On behalf of all the children of LAUP, we thank you for your donation and welcome you to the LAUP family.
