Hello Theatre Lovers!

Today is an exciting day for me as I am heading off to Broadway with my daughter for four days to do nothing but see shows! I am going to be posting my adventures on Instagram and Facebook so please check it out!

Speaking of Broadway musicals, I am sure you are all fans of Jersey Boys. We could not be more excited to have not one, but two of the stars of Jersey Boys in our next production HOW WE GOT TO JERSEY – A Tale of Two Frankies!

If you saw Jersey Boys in its big Toronto run with Dancap, Jeff Madden and Adrian Marchuk were the two men who played the role of Frankie Valli. They both went on to star in Las Vegas and Australia productions. They were the “go-to” guys when you wanted to find someone who could sing just like Frankie Valli. Now, they've written a show about that experience, how it affected them and their families, the highs, the lows, and all the in between! The show is brilliant and is packed with that Jersey Boy music, too!

Mark Camilleri is the musical director. He is an incredible talent and has worked with the likes of Ill Divo, Canadian Tenors, Celine Dion, Sting, Eric Clapton, Cheryl Crow, Paul Anke, David Foster, and more.

If you loved Adrian Marchuk in our production of Any Dream Will Do – The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber, you will adore this newest show of his! This is the perfect companion piece to Jersey Boys. In this show you get all the behind-the-scene stories along with the great music!

HOW WE GOT TO JERSEY – A Tale of Two Frankies runs from Tuesday, June 11 to Friday, June 14 at the John Saunders Centre.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for WITH A SONG IN MY HEART! Your response to this new show was amazing. Leisa was so happy to be back at Theatre Collingwood and sends her love to you all! And wasn’t that young guitar player amazing! Thank you for your support once again.

I think you have all felt my passion for Theatre Collingwood. It was forty years ago that Barbara Weider and a group of equally passionate Collingwood citizens, who believed feverishly about the importance of arts and culture, founded Theatre Collingwood.

Now, 40 years later, we are continuing to serve our community by bringing the best of professional Canadian talent to the region, providing accessible shows each month throughout the year. We have developed the fan-favorite Porchside Festival that runs in July, on 11 porches around town, with 32 performances of great talent! Plus we provide arts education programs year-round for youth, adults, and seniors.

At Theatre Collingwood our mission is clear: we are dedicated to enriching and entertaining both our local community and visitors to the region. We achieve this by spotlighting the most exceptional talent in our live, professional, productions and by providing accessible drama education programs, for youth and mature adults that nurture creativity and artistic growth. We believe in, and are actively participating in, the development of a new and purpose-built Center for Arts & Culture in Collingwood that will enrich the community artistically and economically. Throughout this journey, we hold dear our commitment to Canadian audiences, artists, and creative thinkers.

NOW about STARRY NIGHT:

Starry Night is an important fundraiser for Theatre Collingwood, celebrating our 40th Anniversary, and designed to be the Event of the Year for South Georgian Bay!

Taking place October 5th at the new “Depot” venue at Craigleith Ski Club, it promises to be a magical evening including the amazing Juno Award Winner, Sean Jones, and his band The Collective.

Sean is an incredible pop/R&B artist who is well known for his popular summer residency at Casa Loma. He is a super talented and engaging performer who promises a concert second to none! His band is outstanding and will also feature powerhouse vocalist and musical theatre talent Cleopatra Williams (Kinky Boots, etc).

Peasemarsh Farm Caterer will provide beautifully curated gourmet arrival hors d'oeuvres and a dinner accompanied by wine.

There will be dancing, an amazing experience-based auction (with an outstanding auctioneer team), nonstop fun and surprises, and all that sparkles! Yes, this is an opportunity to bring out your glitz!

Not only will the evening provide great talent, food, wine, and recognize 4 decades of entertainment and dedication, but it also promises you a time to mix and mingle with local celebrities and those who support the arts.

Your support will ensure that Theatre Collingwood can continue to provide our services to the region for the next 40 years! And, did I forget to tell you, our host is Adrian Marchuk (Jersey Boys)!

Tickets are already selling fast, so I encourage you not to wait to reserve your seat. Please call the Theatre Collingwood office (705-445-2200) TODAY to book your tickets. Tables seat 10 but we can even make larger tables!

PLUS: If you book a table before May 31st you'll be entered to win a Foursome of golf (with cart) at either Blue Mountain Golf & Country Club or Cranberry Golf Course. Three prizes are available!

We recognize this ticket price is not cheap but we promise an evening you will truly remember! I also want to say that “singles” are greatly welcome! Please also note that corporate tables are available as are other sponsorship opportunities.

Thank you for your incredible support. I hope you can attend Starry Night on October 5th in Craigleith!
