BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT AT OUR CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER

Back to School Nights are in full swing! Our Child Development Center held their exciting and engaging Back to School Night on Wednesday, August 14th. Parents had an opportunity to visit their child’s classroom and teacher. Thank you to our Director of Early Childhood Education Julie Pretzer and all of her wonderful staff for their hard work in coordinating this event for parents and students.

BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT AT WILLOW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Willow Elementary School also held their Back to School Night on Wednesday, August 14th. Principal Myrna Cerda shared valuable information for the 2024-2025 school year. Afterwards, parents had an opportunity to visit their child’s classroom and teacher. A special thank you to Willow Elementary School staff and Principal Myrna Cerda for all of their efforts in creating a beautiful and successful Back to School Night for parents and students!

OUR DISTRICT WELCOMES NEW BUS DRIVER MARCELA MORA-ROBLES

We are excited to announce that our Maintenance, Operation, Transportation, and Facilities department has a new member! We happily welcome our new bus driver Marcela Mora-Robles to our team! Marcela began working this week at our district.

RECOMMITTING AND REIMAGINING WORKSHOP FOR EDUCATORS

On Friday, August 16, district Dual Language teachers gathered at San Ysidro Middle School to rededicate and recommit to the principles of the Dual Language Program Handbook which was recreated last year by the Dual Language Task Force. Our Coordinator of Federal and State Programs and Language Acquisition Ms. Connie Rodriguez and staff from the San Diego County Office of Education led the discussion around our SYSD DLP Model: In our commitment we recognized that fully biliterate students, especially English Learners benefit and thrive academically.  

A special thanks to our Board Vice President Zenaida Rosario for her vision and field expertise. We also thank the Educational Services staff for coordinating a truly inspirational event! ¡Que vivan los maestros y los alumnos de San Ysidro!
