Dear Friend,
Even during these challenging and uncertain times, I have great hope when I think about the girls at the Beit Ruth Village. Their resilience and ability to overcome obstacles is nothing short of inspirational!
As the school year at Beit Ruth is coming to an end — with one more month than other schools in Israel — I’m thrilled to share that 11 of our girls will graduate this year — all with high school diplomas! They’ll join our Alumnae Program, three will head to the IDF, and four will participate in the National Service. Amazing, considering their journeys getting to this point!
It’s also at this time of year that our current Shinshiniot (National Year of Service volunteers) finish their service, and the Village gets ready to welcome our new cohort of 10 Shinshiniot who will begin their year-long service at Beit Ruth. We’re so grateful for everything they do for our girls, all year round!
We’re excited about the development of our new Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Initiative and can’t wait to share more details with you about it as it develops. Check out one of the girls’ first exciting experiences below!
A few weeks ago, when fires broke out in northern Israel due to rocket fire from Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, a number of people reached out to check on the Village and our girls. We appreciate how much you care and are grateful to share that the fires were not in the vicinity of Beit Ruth. As always, we will stay abreast of the circumstances and will update you, if the situation changes.
Wishing you a safe and wonderful summer. Thank you for being part of our Family. Have a wonderful weekend and a peaceful Shabbat,

Wedding Day Message By Beit Ruth Alumna, Shiraz
"Before I get married tonight, I’d like to share a few words about a very special place I called home as a teen that made a tremendous positive impact on my life. I lived at the Beit Ruth Village, where I not only completed my high school education, but also my life was transformed.
"When I graduated, Beit Ruth continued to be there for me — in every area of my life — paying for driving lessons, encouraging me to complete my army service, providing me a scholarship to continue my studies, helping me realize my dream of home ownership, lending an ear when I faced anxiety and depression, and so much more.
"I still have the most amazing relationship with the Beit Ruth team — the wonderful women who sing with you, laugh with you, are happy for you, and love you unconditionally without limits!"
Beit Ruth’s staff, alumnae, and girls were happy to share in Shiraz’ joyous occasion. We love you, Shiraz, and will be with you on your life journey, always!

Exploring Augmented Reality
At the Beit Ruth Gala in May, we announced our intention to launch a new initiative focusing on STEM — Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. While we’re still in the planning phases, we have already begun exploring STEM with our girls, thanks to our amazing donors who raised their hands at the Gala to help support and launch this important initiative. It will have an extraordinary impact!
Our girls recently were invited to KLA Israel in Migdal HaEmek to experience a day in the life of one of Israel’s top tech companies. They were inspired by conversations with women managers, who shared their journeys and how they overcame challenges to achieve their goals. They also got to experience AR — augmented reality — and observe a lab where computer chips are produced. What an amazing experience for our girls, most who have never met anyone who works in high-tech. It’s amazing to share new experiences with them that can inspire them to dream bigger.
KLA Israel “believes in the power of technology to make this world a brighter place,” and Beit Ruth is excited to collaborate with them. This fall, our girls will participate in five workshops at KLA Israel to learn more about technology and to experience building a microscope. Stay tuned for more to come!

Beyond the Village — Expanding Our Reach
Center of Knowledge Director Ronit Lev-Ari presented a lecture on “Violence Against Women: Red Lights for Predicting Violence After Marriage” to a group of women from Tech2Peace, an organization that provides high-tech and entrepreneurial training to young Israelis and Palestinians. In addition to Tech2Peace’s training opportunities, they create a safe space for young people of all backgrounds and beliefs to meet, express their beliefs, and work with one another. Today, shared experiences like this are needed more than ever.

In April, a group of amazing women from northern Israel who were evacuated from their homes after October 7 visited the Beit Ruth Village. They had been living in hotels in Tel Aviv for six months — and greatly missed, among other things, cooking in their kitchens.
Beit Ruth, The Jaffa Institute, and Matav came together to ensure this day was a wonderful experience for the evacuees and our girls! The women cooked a delicious lunch for the girls. Everyone ate together, while the women discussed being evacuated, and the girls talked about life in the Beit Ruth Village.
Some of the other highlights of the day were a tour of the Village, chocolate factory, and Art Program. The day culminated in the girls’ moving performance of the song “Rise up” in honor of the evacuees.

Having Fun With Important Lessons
We had another phenomenal Sports Day Competition at the Beit Ruth Village! All the girls participated. Each residential home became a team, and the girls donned shirts with their team colors and motivational slogans, like "It’s not that we can fly; we’re simply aware of our abilities."
To foster team spirit, our Shinshiniot decorated the homes and created fun accessories – like capes and crowns.
This year, teams competed in volleyball, basketball, tug of war, fitness equipment circuits, and pass-the-water relay races. The competitive day culminated in a contest where each team sang songs written by the girls.
This action-packed day was not only filled with sports, games, competition, and fun, but the girls also learned important lessons in teamwork, healthy competition, physical fitness, and positive encouragement — no booing allowed!

We always find fun and meaningful ways to share the story of Ruth — our Village’s namesake — during Shavuot, which is always a very special time for us in the Beit Ruth Village.
This year, our Shinshiniot put on a play about Ruth and her story’s rich symbolism. They taught the girls how to make flower crowns and gave them their own flower arrangements before everyone enjoyed a delicious holiday meal together.
