EHSS Hosting Safety Fair 2024 August 15


Environmental Health, Safety and Sustainability is hosting Safety Fair 2024, sponsored by Fisher Scientific. The event features over a dozen vendors, complimentary lunch, prizes, educational breakout sessions, and the inaugural EHSS safety awards presentation.

National Science Foundation Hosts EPSCoR Live! Event August 20


In this virtual forum, Dr. Jose Colom-Ustariz will prepare participants for submission to the NSF EPSCoR Track-2 Focused EPSCoR Collaborations program. Submissions for this cycle should be on the topic “Building capacity towards use-inspired research.” Letters of intent are due December 17, and full proposals are due January 28, 2025. The session will be held on Tuesday, August 20, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (EDT). Advance registration is required.

ISU Celebration Week and Inaugural Address from President Wagner


All are invited to ISU Celebration Week and the Inaugural Address by President Robert W. Wagner. September 9 - 13, enjoy a variety of signature events designed to bring together students, faculty, staff and community members in each of our campus locations. The week ends with the Inaugural Address by President Wagner in the Jensen Grand Concert Hall at the Stephens Performing Arts Center. 

Campus Master Plan Final Presentation and Feedback Sessions


Representatives from the SmithGroup, a firm that we have engaged with since November 2023 to develop a comprehensive campus master plan, will visit each of our campuses August 26 - 28 to present a draft preliminary master plan. The plan is a combination of three proposed options following their review and assessment of physical campuses and utilization of all university spaces, along with feedback from campus and community members

Leadership Development Program Coming This Fall


This fall, Human Resources will once again offer a Leadership Development Program. This is a two hour workshop every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., beginning on September 11, and wrapping up with a graduation celebration lunch on November 20. Topics will include the CliftonStrengths based leadership, Emotional Intelligence, Bold Path Forward with President Wagner and many other topics taught by subject matter experts from ISU.

ISU Alumni Coaches U.S. Olympic Athlete to Golden Victory


Pocatello native and ISU College of Education alumni, now U.S. Olympic Coach, Zeb Sion is celebrating a victory this week. Sion is the coach of Valarie Allman, an American discus thrower who recently won back-to-back gold medals in the Paris Olympics with a throw of 69.50.

Bengal Management Essentials Workshop Series


This fall semester, Human Resources will offer a Bengal Management Essentials workshop for the third year in a row. This is a two hour workshop every Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., beginning on September 12, and wrapping up with a graduation luncheon on November 21.


Each week experts from around campus will address important topics related to being a manager, supervisor, dean, chair, coach, etc. at ISU.

Volunteers Needed for Hispanic Youth Leadership Summit


The fourth annual Hispanic Youth Leadership Summit will be hosted on campus on Tuesday, September 24, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.


During the event, students in grades 7 - 12 will engage in exciting activities, such as attending STEM-related sessions, working on enhancing their leadership skills, talking with employers in our community, applying for scholarships, and getting an overall sense of how college might fit into their future plans. Volunteer duties include being leaders of student groups, directing and guiding students around campus, and more.
