What's Happening in CoSE

It was a pleasure to host this summer’s Bengal Bridge students for a quick chat with Alex Diviney and Ivy Marshall!

Alex is a Bengal alum and serves as a software developer for Farm Bureau Insurance Company of Idaho. Meanwhile, Ivy is a current student in the chemistry department’s BS/MS Accelerated Program. They talked about their experience in college, shared a little advice on how to succeed at Idaho State, and more.

Power Outages Tentatively Planned for July 11 and 12

Planned power outages at the buildings near the tunnel replacement project are tentatively scheduled for July 11 and 12. More details about the outages will be announced as they become available.

Additionally, employees may notice red/brown water in unused taps due to the recent water shutdown. If you are using a tap and the water appears discolored, flush the line using hot and cold water for three to five minutes to clear the pipes. Minerals and sand dislodging cause the red/brown water after the City's water main was turned off and back on again. If you have questions about this project, please contact the project manager, Cole Elquist, at (208) 282-2472 or coleelquist@isu.edu.

This Weekend: Water Rocket Festival

Rockets will be taking to the skies at a Pocatello park June 29 and 30.

From 10 a.m. to noon, Idaho State University’s Department of Physics will host their Water Rocket Festival at Tydeman Park, N. 8th Avenue and E. Young Street. Each day, the first 100 youths ages 16-years-old and younger will receive the materials needed to build a water rocket. From there, ISU students will explain the physics of a good rocket and help the young water rocket scientists create and launch their projectiles. The builder whose rocket travels the furthest will win their own water rocket launcher.
