Minhaz Zibran receives the Third Best Paper Award

Kudos to Minhaz Zibran, associate professor of computer science!


His paper took home the Third Best Paper Award at the International Conference on Intelligent Systems and Patterns Recognition in Istanbul, Turkey. The paper introduces a new AI technique for detecting diseases in crops by analyzing pictures of the leaves.

Recently, Tadesse was named an Outstanding Reviewer of the Practice Periodical on Structural Design and Construction. Published by the American Society of Civil Engineers, the journal focuses on “practical solutions to structural design problems and construction challenges.”

New Benefit Year Information


July is here and with it, a new benefit year. There are a lot of exciting changes coming in FY2025 and we’d like to take a moment to share a few important reminders.

ISU and The Wassmuth Center for Human Rights Partner to Provide Professional Development Courses to K-12 Educators Nationwide


The Albion Center for Professional Development, housed in the College of Education at Idaho State University, is pleased to announce a new five-year partnership with The Wassmuth Center for Human Rights in Boise, Idaho.


Together, they will develop and offer a series of professional development courses tailored for K-12 educators in Idaho and nationwide. These courses will emphasize human rights, including Holocaust education, equipping educators with tools and resources to introduce and teach these critical topics in their classrooms.

Idaho State University to Offer Idaho’s First Nurse Anesthesia Degree Program


Idaho State University’s School of Nursing will soon offer the first nurse anesthesia (CRNA) program in the state of Idaho.


The program received regional accreditation from the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities in July and is currently undergoing the Capability Review Process for accreditation by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA). Its first cohort would begin in Fall 2025 at the ISU Meridian campus, pending initial accreditation being granted by the COA.

We want to make sure those stories are shared publicly. Here are a few ways you can provide a news tip to help get the word out:

Send an email to Logan McDougall (loganmcdougall@isu.edu) with a brief description of the news to be shared.


You are always welcome to create a draft story, submit it via the Story Submission Form, or send it to Logan. The Office of Marketing and Communications and Logan will coordinate to get the story finalized and distributed to the media outlets/platforms that best tell the story.
