Meet the Board....

Next in our focus on board members,we would like for you to meet, Hosanna Blanchard. Hosanna has been involved in community revitalization and place making efforts in Milton for over a decade. Her work includes planning and organizing events, writing grants and serving on the Preservation and Beautification Society board and the Thomas Day House board. She is also co-owner of two businesses in the town. Blanchard says ' Milton is where my roots - very very deep roots - are and I believe in and love the place and Caswell County as a whole'.
Hosanna has a background in marketing and has worked for the Person County Tourism Development Authority and was involved with their marketing, advertising, branding piece of the TDA's work.

In addition, Hosanna has a strong attachment to the land and farming, ..."as my whole family was into horses and riding from the 1980s', she shared. "I trained horses and taught lessons for many years. In my 20s I completed an educational training program through NC State called the "regional equine information networking system" which was designed to assist local extension agents with equine and horse farm specific issues within the county".
Please join us in welcoming Hosanna to the Board.

Professional Speech Pathologist now in Yanceyville

Nothing is more exciting to a chamber director than learning of local talent that has been out of the area for a while and has chosen to return back to Caswell in order to better the community, be closer to family, and experience the quieter rural lifestyle we who live here all enjoy.

On an afternoon in late June, Speech Stars, owner, Jillian Watlington-Kindle spent time sharing how her work as a speech therapist has grown. A graduate from Bartlett Yancey and with a masters in Speech Language Pathology from UNC Greensboro, Jillian and her business partner began a practice in the Raleigh area back in 2017 that has expanded over the years. They currently have an office in Raleigh, Mebane, and most recently Yanceyville. She was very excited to share her plans for the office here in Caswell County. Read More

Please support our local Caswell farmers by visiting the Farmers Market

August 7-13, 2022 is National Farmers Market Week!!!!

Farmers markets are an abundant source of food, connection, and resilience in our communities and across the county, but they don’t just happen on their own.

Behind the scenes of every successful farmer’s market is a dedicated person or team working to make the market thrive. These farmers need support from the whole community in order for them to be sustainable.

Please join Sonya Patterson, Caswell’s Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Agent, along with Shallelica Mean, Nutrition Educator with Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC at the Caswell County Farmers Market on August 11th from 4:00 pm-6:30 pm as they demonstrate a Zucchini and Summer Squash stir fry recipe, using produce grown by local farmers at the market.

Free samples will be available for all to try while supplies last.

2022 has been a great year for Caswell County 4-Hers! Bliss Pointer, daughter of John and Shannon Pointer, completed her reign as Caswell’s very first NC State 4-H Officer from Caswell County at 4-H Congress in July! Bliss began her 4-H life at the ripe old age of five years old. She began doing 4-H Summer Fun activities and got the "4-H bug" trying everything.
