Memorial Day Remembrance

May 27, 2024 at 10:00AM

The members of American Legion Post 9 invite you to join your county's Veterans as they commemorate America's military men and women who died in combat. This moving tribute will be presented at the Milam County Veterans Memorial located at the northeast corner of the courthouse lawn.


Our speaker will be Milam County District Attorney, Bill Torrey. Music will be provided by The Communities in Concert Band.

Old Town Cameron & Railroad will be playing a rebroadcast of the radio shows that were broadcast in London during the Normandy Invasion.


Morgan WWII Aircraft Museum will be open at the Cameron Airport with displays of WWII aircraft and transports. More information to follow.


Milam County Historical Museum will have exhibits on display from WWII commemorating those who served. More information to follow.

CASA of Milam County will have their first annual Justice Is Served Pancake Breakfast. Come sit and eat or take it to go. Pancakes with a drink will be served for just $5.


CASA Board members will prepare the breakfast while Milam County judges, police officers, the Sheriff's Department, and Volunteer Firefighters from all over our County will serve the breakfast.

Congratulations

First Baptist Church

Organization of the Month

Congratulations to First Baptist Church of Cameron on being awarded Organization of the Month for May! The FBC congregation has been active in the community for many years, and the Chamber recognizes their volunteer efforts and community involvement. The church is located at 400 W. Main Street in Cameron. Pastor Patrick Ransom preaches the truth of God’s Word weekly. Sunday service is at 10:45AM, with Bible study classes beginning at 9:30. The church also offers programs for youth and children on Wednesdays from 5-6PM, and weekly adult Bible studies throughout the year. MARLOW CEMETERY ASSOCIATION

Contact Melanie Reed at 254-482-0908 or email jp2mjr@hotmail.com for further details. Donations may be mailed to the Marlow Cemetery Association 3857 CR 227 Cameron, Tx 76520. Homecoming for the association will be July 14, 2024 at Noon at Marlow Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.


MILAM COUNTY HISTORICAL MUSEUM AND HISTORIC JAIL HOURS: The Main Museum is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 AM til 3 PM. The Jail is open Saturday 10 AM to 3 PM.


OLD TOWN CAMERON AND RAILROAD MUSEUM.

The museum is now open, and trains are running. New exhibits in miniature have been added as well as large scale railroad exhibits within their new facility. Hours of operation Wed- Sat 10AM til 4PM. 110 W 1st St next door to the Milam County Museum.

MILAM COUNTY HISTORICAL COMMISSION: Next meeting June 3, 2024 at 10 AM at the Thorndale Chamber of Commerce.


The El Camino Real Chapter of Texas Master Naturalists will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday June 13, 2024. The program will begin at 6PM at the All-Saints Episcopal Church Meeting Room at 200 N. Travis in Cameron. The public is invited to attend.


Rancheria Grande Chapter of El Camino Real De Los Tejas National Historic Trail Association- The next chapter meeting of Milam County's Rancheria Grande Chapter is to be announced. The meetings start at 10AM and are held at the Lucy Hill Patterson Library in Rockdale. Guests are welcome to attend.
