Have you heard the wonderful news? We are delighted and honored to announce fellow Sanibel residents, Bill & Laurie Harkey have donated $500,000 to help the Sanibel Community Association rebuild your Historic Sanibel Community House. 

The Harkey’s have asked all residents, neighbors and friends of Sanibel and Captiva to join them by donating to help us rebuild and get your Historic Island Gathering Place fully open and operating as quickly as we can. We can't do this without YOUR HELP.

We are very pleased to announce that both Rotary Club of Sanibel & Captiva and the Sanibel-Captiva Kiwanis Club are holding their meetings at the Sanibel Community House.

The next Kiwanis Club meeting will be held Tuesday, July 11th.

The next Rotary Club meeting will be held Friday, July 14th.

We would like to send a very special thank you to Jerry's of Sanibel for partnering with us in providing a breakfast buffet for the weekly local Kiwanis Club and Rotary Club meetings!

There is so much work being done each day to restore your Island Gathering Place! From cabinets, to paint, woodwork to signage, it is all coming together!

• We plan to return to full operation in September, in time to host your event in the coming fall-spring season.
• Phase 2—We are striving to complete this phase by August 31st and hope to re-open the "Great Hall" auditorium, "Community Room" and kitchen facilities.
• Phase 3—The final phase will come on stream by October 1st. We are working hard this summer to complete the "Founders Room", which was part of the original Community House historic structure dating from 1927.
