Dear Sanibel Friend,
Since 1927, The Community House has been “The Island Gathering Place” for both Sanibel and Captiva. We have been here for islanders for over 96 years, serving as a true “home” for Sanibel and Captiva’s civic, social and family life.
Our annual membership renewal date of November 1st quickly came and went, and while we still are not 100% functional, we would greatly appreciate your membership support. We all know that Hurricane Ian had other plans for so many of us, including you, our community friends and neighbors.
You have helped us to evolve and grow in our beautifully renovated facility. You have enabled us to continue to offer and expand our creative classes, cultural events, culinary experiences, as well as provide affordable rental space for all island nonprofits, service organizations, clubs, and private rentals, and so much more!
We receive no financial assistance from public funds or tax dollars, however each year we look to the community to help support us. And this year, more than ever we need your help. Hurricane Ian has not completely destroyed our facility, but he certainly has made it more challenging for us to recover, rebuild and reopen.
