An Incredible Weekend of Music for Westminster Presbyterian Church

June 7-9, 2024

Come celebrate the talented musicians of Westminster with our third annual Community in Concert. Donations collected through a free-will offering will support our Tilton Music Scholarship program. This program, which began in 1987, allows Westminster to benefit from the musical gifts of our Tilton Scholars who currently include Zac Burns, Makenna Fowler, Ryan Mancini and Vanessa Paré. This program is funded completely by donations. Please invite your friends and neighbors. We hope you can join us for this amazing night of music.

Music Appreciation Sunday June 9

We invite you to join us for Music Appreciation Sunday. Our worship service will include scripture, prayer, music and song. Music will be provided by the Chancel Choir, Children’s Choir and Handbell Choir, as well as by talented vocalists and instrumentalists from our church community. Music beings at 9:45 a.m. with worship starting at 10:00 a.m. Our plate offering that Sunday will go to support our Tilton Scholarship program. We hope to see you there!

They'll be performing at Celebrate West Hartford, a two-day town festival held on the grounds of West Hartford's Town Hall. They will be playing Sunday afternoon from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m., making it a great finale to a wonderful weekend of music for our Westminster community!

Impactful Learning and Conversation

at Suicide Awareness Event

On Sunday, May 19, Westminster hosted a Community Conversation on Suicide Awareness. The event helped raise awareness and provided training to help recognize the warning signs of suicide.

This event included free QPR Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Training led by certified trainers from the West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District. The event promoted meaningful dialogue about the ways to help those who may be suffering and considering taking their own life.

Westminster's Community Hub Taskforce is in the midst of planning more community conversations and events focusing on mental health. If you're interested in learning more, please contact Tom Buckley at tbtrailrun@hotmail.com or Janet Wade-Utay at MainSt.chef10@gmail.com
