March is a time dedicated to honoring the remarkable contributions of women in history.

March is Women’s History Month. It serves as a reminder to celebrate the resilience and achievements of women who have made a difference. From famous quotes to inspiring stories, Women's History Month is an opportunity to reflect on the challenges overcome and the successes achieved by remarkable women.

Personally, I am profoundly thankful for the influential women in my life, especially my mother, Ruth Vance. Her legacy of love and wisdom continues to be my guiding light every single day. A true matriarch, she raised nine children with values of education, faith, unity, and fairness. Her love extended beyond our family to embrace nieces, nephews, friends, and strangers alike. My mom’s kindness, intelligence, and beauty touched countless lives, with stories of her benevolence still echoing through the years. She remains a shining example of the incredible impact women can have on the world.

I know there are many inspiring women right here in Fresno - my sisters, aunts, cousins and coworkers are among them. This month serves as an opportunity to reflect on the challenges overcome, successes they have achieved and a time to just say THANK YOU.

Join Us This Easter !

Easter Eggstravaganza

The West Fresno Family Resource Center and the Fresno Parks and Recreation Department are thrilled to invite you and your loved ones to our Easter Egg Extravaganza on March 29, 2009, 12:30 – 3:30 p.m. at the Mary Ella Brown Community Center, 1350 E. Annadale Avenue.

This event promises to be a blast, with exciting games, amazing prizes, and fun raffles for everyone to enjoy! Toni Wilson of the Family Resource Center guarantees that this will be a day filled with amusement for the entire family.

"The games and events will be appropriate for each age group so that everyone can enjoy the day," Wilson said. "It will be a fantastic way to celebrate Easter with family. All you have to do is show up.”
