PRIDE Picnic
While our annual PRIDE picnic and celebration had to be postponed due to weather, the event was held in August at Broad Street Park and a huge success.

The weather was great and we enjoyed ice cream from Wade's, popcorn and rainbow cotton candy, face painting, music and much more.

Thank you so much to our sponsors!

2023 Recovery Vigil

Our 2nd annual "Light the Night Vigil" held on September 8th was a success despite having to move most of the event indoors due to severe thunderstorms. The event was filled with emotions as we lit candles in honor of those lost to substance use and read off the list of names of people in the community who have passed. It was bittersweet as we grieved our losses while also feeling the hope expressed by the speakers who are now in sustained recovery and are now giving back to their communities. The evening ended with a rainbow appearing on the horizon!
Visit from Senator Shaheen
On August 29th, U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen visited TLC Family Resource Center to talk "about the impact that the loss in federal funding - funding that had been routine for the last decade - has had on high-risk youth in the region".

"TLC Family Resource Center is extremely grateful to Senator Shaheen for advocating for funding to continue the Personal Responsibility Education Program in Sullivan County. With these funds, TLC will provide over 90 youth and their families with the information and education needed to make healthy decisions and prevent teen pregnancy. We are thrilled to be able to partner with local schools, youth serving organizations, and families to bring this important program back to our community,” said Stephanie Slayton, Executive Director, TLC Family Resource Center.

We are excited to share that TLC was awarded $88,418 through the US Department of HHS State Personal Responsibility Education Program (PREP) to support continued health education for youth in Greater Sullivan Public Health Region.
2023 Ride for Resilience
The Ride for Resilience is a 100 mile charity bicycle ride benefitting the NH Network of Family Support and its many efforts to ensure all Granite State children exist in safe, stable, and nurturing environments.

Laura Hagley, long time TLC board member is riding on behalf of TLC on October 13. "I have been on the board of TLC Family Resource Center for years, and can't say enough about the good work TLC provides in our community. TLC partners with families and individuals as they learn new skills, connect to community resources and build resilience to thrive.  Please join me in supporting TLC Family Resource Center in teaching loving connections."
Introducing Friends of TLC

Friends of TLC is a group of people who support our mission and want to volunteer at TLC events. "Friends" will receive information about upcoming events and how they can participate. Volunteering could include preparing materials for an event, helping to serve food, staffing an information booth, and assisting staff with activities at family events. In the coming year, we hope that "Friends" will hold lunches for staff, participate in family events, and help with a TLC Open House. "Friends" will be an organized way for volunteers to serve families and support staff.
