I am so grateful to have been given the opportunity to take a month of renewal leave. This month away was a chance to unplug a bit in silence, to notice the ways I feel God's presence all around me, and to experience vocational confirmation. While I didn't take the leave in order to produce or publish anything, I was able to do some reconciliation and healing, write poetry, make art, and remember the sacred power of rest. It has been a tremendous gift to me, and I am grateful to Pastor Sarah and the rest of the church staff, to the PPRC committee, and to all of you for making it possible.

Back to school

Please note that Sunday School and SPYF will be starting up in the next month. Sunday School will resume on Sunday, Sept. 8th, with our annual picnic later that day, and SPYF will begin on Sunday evening, Sept. 15th. Stay tuned for more information!

Short-term church office volunteer opportunity

The church office is seeking volunteer(s) to cover the office during the dates of Monday, Aug. 12th through Thursday, Aug. 22nd. Tasks would include answering phones, greeting visitors and occasional minor tasks. Office coverage options are 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM; 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM; or 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Church library book giveaway!

Do you love books? Then stop by the Asbury Room on Sunday, Aug. 18th, from 8:30 to 11:30 AM, when the church library will be doing a book giveaway! We have several boxes of books to give away, so feel free to come take some free books! The books will be laid out for browsing on the conference table in the Asbury Room. Anything not taken by members of the congregation will be donated to AAUW. If you have any questions, please email library@stpaulsc.org.

Part-time job opening

Wesley Foundation is looking for a cleaning person for Abba Java Coffeehouse during the 2024-25 school year, beginning in late August. Cleaning times can be flexible (morning or evening), 3 days/week, 2-3 hours per day. Tasks will include vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, gathering/taking out trash, and cleaning bathrooms.
