Messages

We're going LIVE on Minerva next week!

Here's what to expect: There will be blip in the system over this coming weekend. Bear with us as we make this colossal transition.

  • There will be a time over the weekend (Saturday evening through Monday) when library cardholders will be unable to place items on hold or search our catalog. Rest assured, it's all part of this exciting process. We'll be up and running on Tuesday, August 27, and it will be a whole new, BIG, bright and beautiful (library) world.

  • Once we've made the transition, expect a bit of an adjustment. We'll do our best to walk you through the finer details of using the catalog to search for materials and to place items on hold. We ask that you please be patient. The system is new to us, and it's new to just about every PML cardholder. There will be lots of questions. We're going to do our best to answer all of them.

  • Minerva is a borrowing consortium of more than 60 libraries. Now you'll be able to borrow items from libraries across the state*, and you'll be able to do that right from your library account. (*Please note that statewide borrowing is temporarily suspended at the state level. We are hopeful that the system will be back up and running soon).

  • We will soon be providing you with a list of about 30 libraries that you can visit and check out materials using your PML library card. Not every library is part of the Reciprocal Borrowing Program, so be sure to check the list before you visit another library.

A note about Library of Things items: Typically, Library of Things items are not borrowable through Minerva or through the Reciprocal Borrowing Program.

  • Always bring your library card to the library to check out materials. Doing so will ensure that your items are checked out to you and not to someone who happens to have the same name, somewhere else in the state.

Thanks for reading. See you in the stacks!

One Facebook page for all of your PML news

PML is combining its Facebook pages into one

As of September 1, the Prince Memorial Library Youth & Teen Services Facebook page will no longer exist. We will be sunsetting our PML Teens Tik Tok and PML Teens Instagram pages as well.

Follow the Prince Memorial Library Facebook page for updates on ALL library happenings for littles, kids, teens, and adults. PML has an Instagram account, too!

Book donations are on hold until the bathroom renovation is complete (which is soon, we hope)

Thanks for thinking of us when you have books to donate. We are unable to accept book donations at this time.

A reminder to get your new library card

Your old library card is good for a little while, but sometime this summer, it will no longer work. Stop by the library to register for a new library card. It doesn't take long. You can even save a bit of time by filling out the registration information in advance.

All dances will be suitable for adults and children. Kathryn may call circle, contra, waltzes, and square dances. It’s expected that mistakes will be made. No worry, neighbors will help straighten it out.
