NUTRITION

Recipe

From the desk of Bethany Williston, M.S., Registered Dietitian Nutritionist at Liberty Athletic Club

Nutrition Facts

Store-bought taco seasoning is delicious but not nutritious. Those convenient packets include several ingredients that increase shelf life like yellow corn flour, maltodextrin, modified corn starch, citric acid, autolyzed yeast extract, and artificial colors.

Instead of buying taco seasoning, you can make your own by mixing the following ingredients together:

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp fine sea salt
  •  1 tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp each: garlic powder, onion powder, and dried oregano
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes

TENNIS NEWS & INFORMATION

From the desk of Dan Goldberg, Director of Tennis

Welcome back! The 2024-2025 indoor season is officially underway, and I know many of you are looking forward to returning to your favorite classes. We will also plan to offer some new programming including a “Stroke of the Month” class along with other special events to bring the Liberty tennis community together.

Junior Competitive and Adult clinics have now all resumed -- along with Cardio and Live Ball tennis programs. For the competitive player, Adult B and USTA League Programs will be starting in September, and Junior Team Tennis matches will begin in late October.  I anticipate a fun and busy fall and winter on the courts, and the entire Liberty tennis staff is excited for the upcoming season.

Hope to see you on the courts!

Newly Resurfaced Indoor Courts

During the last week of August, the indoor courts were closed for a complete resurfacing -- and we LOVE the results!

Please make an effort to keep our new courts clean by consuming coffee, sport drinks, and snacks/gum before you enter the courts. Also, please put any garbage (tennis ball cans, lids, used grips) in the trash receptacles.

Thank you!

We appreciate this courtesy to the players that follow you on court and to the instructors who need a full basket for lessons.
