Winter is coming ...
and that typically means that less people want to sell their homes than in the springtime.
If you have been thinking about selling, and are planning to wait until the prime selling season, let me give you a few things to consider:
  • When you sell your home in the winter, there is a lot less competition on the market, so you are likely to get more buyers coming through your house.
  • Because of the lack of available inventory it creates more of a sellers market, meaning that you are typically able to get a slightly higher price than you would in the spring.
  • The buyers searching in the winter are usually very serious and planning to purchase soon. Where as in the spring many people start thinking about buying, and want to take a look at what's available, which may not pan into making an offer quickly.
