THIS WEEK:

Thursday, February 15 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. In the News: Conversations. Hungry for intelligent discussion on the events of the day? Then this open discourse program is for you. We meet the first and third Thursdays of each month in the Reading Room at Kent Memorial Library. The group sets the agenda. Moderated by Rick Levy. Free and Open to the Public. Please email to register.

Thursday, February 15 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Spring Book Discussion Series: Displacement. This Spring we will take up the theme of Displacement on an international scale. On the list for Spring are four twenty-first century novels that examine historical events from the nineteenth, twentieth, and twenty-first century that echo across time. Although all the novels have been written since 2011, the events have deeper roots. The stories are unified as a geography of personal and national suffering and loss. This month's book is Go, Went, Gone by Jenny Erpenbeck. The discussion is conducted by Betty Krasne, PhD., writer, professor emerita, and longtime Kent resident. Free and open to the public. On Zoom. To register and reserve books call 860-927-3761 or email.
