2024-2025 Season
September and October: Catherine Turocy is the choreographer and movement director for Cosmic Portal, a new film from Jason Starr. NYBDC dancers Julia Bengtsson, Irenie Melin-Gommper and Rebecca Walden join dancers Francesca Griffin, Samuel Humphreys, Christina Saliga and Jessica Slade as priestesses and Anchorites. Perhaps some of you remember Catherine’s last collaboration with Jason Starr:

October 18-20: Julia Bengtsson premieres a Baroque /crossover duet based on Bach’s Goldberg Variations in Denver, Colorado with Baroque Chamber Orchestra of Colorado.
October 20-22: Early Music America Summit in Cleveland where Catherine and Julia will teach a contredanse dedicated to Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-George: Link
November 8: The Dallas Bach Society has invited Catherine Turocy to give a pre-concert workshop.
November 9+10: Julia Bengtsson in a baroque/crossover performance with Lyrical in Boston, more news to follow.
January: Catherine Turocy is commissioned to create a new work for The Colburn School. Link
March 16: The Baroque/Carnatic Connection is presented by the Dallas Bach Society at Moody Hall. Link
April: Julia Bengtsson works on the Alcina project in Norway, more news to come

June: The Boston Early Music Festival has invited many of our dancers to perform in the opera.
In 2025: Orfeo by Claudio Monteverdi with Ars Lyrica Houston. Catherine Turocy stage director/choreographer with members of the NYBDC. Here is a link to a beautiful performance of the work. Link
