SGP's leaders, brands, certified facilities and supporters recently returned from a successful 2018 Community Day in Cincinnati, OH. The day began keynote Ryan Mooney-Bullock, the Executive Director of Cincinnati's Green Umbrella, who shared five items needed for collaborative sustainability action teams.
Paul Glynn, manager, Designtex followed to share a success story of finding a way to recycle 100 percent of the company's plastic packaging materials with a little help from Trex. The plastics discussion continued with Ashley Hood-Morley, director of sustainability for the Plastics Industry Association, discussing the future of plastics recycling in the face of China's refusal of US plastic waste (the good news is more domestic recycling capacity is coming online every day).

After lunch, Mike Compton, business development manager, Top Value Fabrics, spoke about innovations in artificial fabric recycling. The program wrapped up with ECOR's National Accounts Manager Joe Stapley, and SGIA's Vice President Marci Kinter talking about how trade shows and events can become more sustainable.
