Invitation from Peggy: We Need You!
We are planning a worship leader training session for March (date TBD) for current worship leaders and those who might be open to leading in the future. What if almost everyone in the congregation came to the training? That could be fun!
We need volunteers to help with communion preparation and clean-up. If everyone said "yes" to one time a year, we'd have it covered.
Several of you have commented that you'd like to have different people serve as liturgists, but only one or two have volunteered. The choir could benefit from more voices and even more instrumentalists.
One of my favorite hymns is "Here I Am, Lord." In the refrain, we sing, "Is it I, Lord?" I ask myself that question when I sense the Spirit leading me to a new call or someone asking me to commit to something. "Is it me?" "Am I the best person for the job?"
How often do you say "no" to a request before you consider what saying "yes" could mean for you and the people you're serving? Sometimes we are afraid to take on a new responsibility or challenge because we fear we're not good enough or don't have enough time or energy. We might think that someone else will do it. Someone ends up being no one.
Imagine how enriched our worship would be if more people participated in the leadership and shared their gifts with the community. Is it you?
Peace,
Peggy
