Western Pennsylvania Diaper Bank
The region's only diaper bank, serving families since 2012
Celebrating a Decade of Service
As we head into our tenth anniversary year, we are thrilled to share our first annual report, highlighting the impact of Western Pennsylvania Diaper Bank and all of the amazing people helping us do this work.

The 2021 Annual Report is a reflection of the dedicated partner agencies, volunteers, funders, diaper drive hosts, and board who are working with us to support families in crisis. We can't thank you enough for your service to our community. You make this work possible! As you review our Annual Report, know that you are the reason we will be able to serve 13,000 people this year.

Please save the date to join us on September 29, 2022 for our 10th Anniversary Celebration, honoring our co-founders Phillip and Cathy Battle and the volunteers who have helped us grow the Diaper Bank. We hope you can celebrate with us!

If you are interested in helping with the planning of the event, please reach out to Jill Stanley at jillannstandley@gmail.com.

Who will you be rolling with?

Walk with us on Saturday, May 7 for the 2022 Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community!

We are looking for walkers for our two teams, Team Camry (Mt. Pleasant) and Team Cadillac (Point Breeze). The WPADB teams may be in a friendly competition, but we have the same goal—to raise funds for families in crisis.

Will you walk with us?

Those who raise or donate $30 or more will receive a Highmark Walk t-shirt on race day while supplies last. Refreshments and entertainment will be provided. Pick your team and sign up today! If you're not able to walk with us, you can still donate.
💙 Welcoming Our Newest Team Members
Nathan Williams,
Van Driver/Warehouse Leader
With years of experience as an elementary school teacher, Nathan has the wherewithal and work ethic to keep up with the hustle and bustle of the Diaper Bank. From keeping the warehouse stocked and organized to deliveries to Mt. Pleasant Hub, he is ensuring we can get orders out to partner agencies.

Outside of the Diaper Bank, Nathan enjoys sports, movies, and photography. A Pittsburgh native, Nathan also works as a supervisor at PPG Paints arena, where he gets to enjoy an occasional Penguins game.
Akire Hoots,
Period Project Intern
Akiré joined WPADB in February to support the Period Project. She is enjoying creating marketing and social media content, communicating with partners regarding community events, and updating the Period Project advocacy curriculum.

Akiré enjoys cooking and traveling in her free time. She will be with us through the summer and plans to attend Robert Morris University this fall to obtain her RN, BSN.
We ♥ Our Volunteers!
Over the past ten years, WPADB has been blessed with many volunteers who have helped our organization do everything from leading events, wrapping diapers and period supplies, organizing donations, holding diaper drives, moving our warehouse, and distributing diapers to partner agencies.

There are a few volunteer groups that have consistently shown up to support us and we are so grateful every time they come through. PittServes is a University of Pittsburgh initiative created to empower students with the knowledge and ability to contribute to positive change in the Pittsburgh community. PittServes complements students' and student organizations' education with service opportunities for local and regional organizations requesting help. PittServes and University organizations, such as JumpStart and service fraternities, have been one of WPADB’s most loyal volunteer factions, consistently visiting us for their annual Civic Action Week, MLK Day of Service, as well as many other times throughout the years. Oftentimes, individual students will pop up to fulfill a day of service "just because" and we are forever fortunate and dazzled by the dedication these Pitt scholars have to offer.

Another of our extremely dedicated volunteer groups is the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. This group of talented dancers has been joining us in our warehouse to wrap diapers and period supplies since 2018—even joining us in the midst of recital and Nutcracker rehearsals! We've already hosted this group multiple times in 2022 and intend to welcome them back on a monthly basis, bringing that dancer dedication and energy with them. We are so very fortunate to have such a wonderful stream of talented and reliable volunteers.
