The new Weatherford College Vickie & Jerry Durant Hall student housing building is a hub stretching over 57,000 square feet, stands at four stories tall and houses 119 beds. The residential quarters are predominantly organized into four-person suites, comfortably accommodating residents and promising privacy and comfort, but are also designed to encourage camaraderie and collaboration, forming a haven of academic and athletic excellence.

The housing facility provides an array of amenities tailored to meet the diverse needs of its students. Residents will have unrestricted access to specialized spaces including a well-equipped fitness center housing a weight room and a cardio room, and a recovery/training room for the athletes to recharge and rejuvenate. The multipurpose room is the perfect sanctum for activities like yoga and Pilates, fostering a balance between mind and body. Adding a touch of luxury and relaxation is an expansive balcony, offering a tranquil space to unwind and socialize.

In addition to these recreational areas, the building also features indispensable amenities ensuring smooth daily operations. The ground floor houses a welcoming reception and administrative offices, facilitating efficient management and service. The lobby, is the heart of the facility, ushering in residents and guests into a world of comfort and innovation. Meeting rooms and collaborative areas are integrated into the design, promoting interaction and community building. Recognizing the importance of support spaces, the building is equipped with essential features like a reliable elevator system, strategically located restrooms, staircases for ease of movement, and dedicated storage spaces. Technological advancements are also at the forefront, with specially designed tech spaces aiming to foster innovation and learning.

Future expansion capabilities have been woven into the blueprint of the facility, paving the way for scalable growth and enhancements, aligning with the evolving needs of the student community. Overall, this project epitomizes a blend of modern design, innovation, and comfort, promising an enriching residential experience for the WC Honors Program students and athletes, propelling them towards a future of unparalleled success and growth.

The regeneration of McMurry University’s Student Center originally built in 1979 included enclosing and adding a second story to the central courtyard, adding 3 new entry vestibules, adding a new loading dock, and renovating the entire existing building shell. The project included 40,325 square feet of renovation and the addition of 18,586 square feet to existing building.

This project includes some unique, specialty finish items such as a wood trellis, curved operable partitions, and retractable stages. A relatively large portion of the scope of work is food service equipment which includes a large serving kitchen, coffee bar, downstairs warming kitchen and upstairs warming kitchen.

The campus center hosts a fitness and wellness center, student success center, chapel, spirit store, event spaces and more.
