Join the Chester Springs Library for an eclipse party! There will be viewing glasses, lawn games, and equipment available for you to test out the new disc golf course. The eclipse will be at its maximum point of totality at 3:23pm, but feel free to come whenever between 2:45 and 4 to celebrate this rare celestial phenomenon!

What is a total solar eclipse? This occurs when the moon is completely blocking our view of the moon. It can take hundreds of years for a total solar eclipse to occur in the same place on Earth twice.

Be safe: Chester Springs Library will provide certified eclipse viewing glasses at the event. Unless the solar eclipse is at totality, you should never look directly at the sun without these special glasses.

This event will take place at Pine Creek Park. 1488 Yellow Springs Rd, Chester Springs

RESIDENTIAL TRASH PICKUP ISSUES

In recent weeks, trash and recycling collections have posed challenges and frustrations. The Township acknowledges and values every individual who has reached out concerning their specific household. We recognize the widespread collection issues and empathize with your frustration. We also understand that reaching Blosenski has proven difficult, requiring extensive time on hold and multiple unanswered messages.

We have spoken to A.J. Blosenski on behalf of township residents several times, and have been told that the issues are due to route changes. We encourage residents to continue to contact A.J. Blosenski when trash/recycling is not picked up.

As always, we are available to listen to your concerns. You can reach us at 610-590-5300 or office@westpikeland.com.

Spelling Bee

April 12 - 28, 2024

An eclectic group of six mid-pubescents (played by super talented adult performers) vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the "tweens" spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming "ding" of the bell that signals a spelling mistake.

America250PA is accepting design submissions from Pennsylvania artists for the ‘Bells Across PA’ art series to commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the United States in 2026. The selected artists will execute their designs on bell sculptures.

These fiberglass bells will be adorned and magically transformed by local artists and sponsored by businesses or individuals. Our goal is to place at least one bell in each of the 67 counties across Pennsylvania. We hope for many more!

Exterior bells can be placed beginning April 2025 through the end of December 2025. All bells must be in place by December 31, 2025 and remain on display through December 31, 2026. Interior bell placement timing will vary.

‘Bells Across PA’ is open to all Pennsylvania artists and groups from the acclaimed to the amateur. Painters, sculptors, craftsmen, multi-media artists, and other wildly creative people are all encouraged to apply. Each commissioned bell will receive one honorarium regardless of group size.
