EARLY CHILDHOOD
PARENTING CENTER
Dear Fellow ECPC Parent,

Like many of you, I was a struggling new parent when I found The Early Childhood Parenting Center. This incredible organization, my amazing group leaders, and the other parents in my support group gave me what I needed to navigate those early years with success. Since beginning with ECPC 14 years ago, all three of my children have attended ECPC groups. Today I credit ECPC with helping me find my 'parenting legs'. ECPC allowed me to become the parent I wanted to be by teaching me to listen to what my baby really needs and to respond appropriately - and for teaching all of us to communicate clearly as a family.

I am delighted that ECPC is now

focused on making their wonderful services available free of charge to families living in challenging circumstances - homelessness,
poverty, and single parenting.

With that in mind, I'd like you to meet Amber, who grew up in foster care, passed around from family to family, rarely in one place for more than a year.

At age 18, Amber became pregnant. Now part of her already uncertain future is the daunting reality of raising a child without family, role models, or any experience of what it takes to be a good parent. Fortunately, Amber has been attending ECPC parenting groups and seeing an ECPC mental health counselor. She has learned about her baby's development, gained insights about herself, and learned how to better nurture and care for her baby.

Most importantly, she has learned that her child can have a very different experience growing up than she had!

This holiday season, we invite you help others like Amber break the cycle of poverty, violence and dysfunction. You can make a difference in the lives of vulnerable families living in low-income housing and homeless shelters in Los Angeles. You can make on-site counseling, education, and developmental assistance available - all backed by ECPC's extensive experience - at no charge to Amber and the many others like her.

The need is great and your support is vital! Research shows that this kind of early intervention provides the greatest benefit for the lowest possible cost. Just $1,000 provides one family with weekly parenting groups and individual counseling for a whole year. Your gift of any amount will make all the difference to struggling parents and their young children.

Please join me by clicking here now and making a contribution. You can help change a life, a family, and an entire community.

Thank you,
