Town of Wellington Fourth of July
The annual Town of Wellington Fourth of July celebration is around the corner. Get ready for a day full of community fun!
  • Pancake Breakfast - 7 a.m. Hosted by the Filling Station (3906 Cleveland Ave.)
  • Parade – 10 a.m. Cleveland Ave.
  • Festival – 11 a.m. Wellington Community Park (8760 Buffalo Creek Parkway)
  • Fireworks - 9:30 p.m. Sixth Street - 97.1 FM
Vendor and Float Registration - Ends June 3, 2022
Local businesses and community groups are invited to register as a vendor at the festival or enter a float in the downtown parade. Applications and fees are due by June 3, 2022. This year’s Parade theme is “Gratitude for Our Armed Forces"

Parking
On-street parking is available throughout the day. Please do not block private property driveways or in front of emergency vehicles. Accessible Parking for registered vehicles will be available in designated areas for the parade, festival and fireworks. Please refer to the 4th of July map for additional information.

Leave the Fireworks to the Professionals
Fireworks are illegal in the Town of Wellington and the State of Colorado. Fireworks cause thousands of injuries, disrupt your neighbors, scare animals, and could cost you a large fine.

Enjoying the public display of fireworks is more safe and legal!

To report the illegal use of fireworks please contact Larimer County Sherrif at (970) 416-1985. As always, if you are experiencing an emergency, call 911

Town-Wide Yard Sale
The Town of Wellington Community Activities Commission (CAC) invites you to participate in the annual Town-Wide Yard Sale on June 4, 2022.

You can view the interactive map online with the button below.

Printed copies are also available for pick up in person at the Wellington Public Library (3800 Wilson Ave) or the Municipal Services Building (8225 Third St) June 1 – 4 during regular business hours.
Town Clean- Up Dumpsters
Town Clean-Up Dumpsters
Saturday, June 11, 2022
10 a.m. – 2 p.m.| 6th Street

Town of Wellington Clean-Up Dumpsters will be available to residents for FREE on Saturday, June 11, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The dumpsters will be located on the east side of Sixth Street across from the current Wellington Middle School. These dumpsters are not for disposal of paint, batteries, tires, appliances, furniture, or hazardous waste items such as pesticides or other chemicals, additionally, no construction site waste. Items cannot exceed one cubic yard.

Please do not leave trash on the ground before the dumpsters arrive or after they are removed.

The audit will include:
  • Conducting efficiency tests to ensure your system distributes water evenly and effectively, identifying any areas needing repair.
  • Make minor adjustments and provide practical, DIY sprinkler maintenance tips.
  • Leave you with a diagnostic list of opportunities for improvement, so you know exactly what to tackle for your next weekend yard project!
  • Ensure your sprinklers are working for you, not wasting your water.

Free Rain Garden

Watering Restrictions
Outdoor potable watering restrictions are in place for summer 2022. Ensuring the water treatment plant's capacity to produce indoor drinking water (potable) remains the top priority, especially as we enter peak demand season.

  • Outdoor watering is only permitted between 7 p.m. and 8 a.m.
  • Odd street numbers watering permitted on Tues. and Sat.
  • Even street numbers watering permitted on Wed. and Sun.
  • Irrigation runoff shall be kept to a minimum.
  • Overspray onto non-vegetated areas is strictly prohibited.
  • Washing outside paved or concrete areas is prohibited.

Colorado Revised Statutes (C.R.S.) 38-33.3-302(1)(k)(II) made law by HB13-183 generally prohibits an HOA from levying a fine on a homeowner for inadequate landscape watering when restrictions are in place, if the homeowner is watering according to the watering restrictions.

Residents with non-potable irrigation systems (water not treated for drinking/consumption) are encouraged to limit water use but are not mandated by these restrictions.
Local Business Spotlight
Old Colorado Brewing Co
The original Old Colorado Brewing Company opened in Fort Collins in 1989, the first craft brewery in Northern Colorado. It re-opened business in Wellington in February 2016, becoming the first craft brewery in Wellington.

Our beer recipes have been passed down through generations. Our business is women majority owned and operated. Our most popular beer, Old Joe Cream Ale, is over a 30-year-old recipe. We love our community and often get involved in charitable events to benefit our town.

We are a part of the Wellington Brewfest and host the Wellington Fun Run, both benefiting the Wellington Main Streets Program.
Two Owls Counseling
Two Owls Counseling has served Wellington for three years. I specialize in grief, anxiety and depression.

Wellington is a great place to live! I love the small town feel but with the restaurants, gyms, and breweries of a big city.
The Town of Wellington is committed to supporting our local businesses. We would like to build awareness of our businesses and encourage residents to “Think Wellington First” when purchasing goods and services. Each month we will spotlight 1-2 locally-owned businesses, restaurants, and shops in our E-Newsletter. Thistle
Thistle has been a downtown staple since 2017 when we took over the centuries old brick building by the Wellington Hotel. For nearly 5 years, we've been bringing unique gifts, homemade goods and fashion to downtown Wellington.

I started Thistle to expand on my love of art, design and humor and to bring something to Wellington that it didn't have at the time. I feel Thistle is unique because of the fun, snarky items and friendly atmosphere. Wellington loves humor and we've found those are our most popular items along with wax melts and jewelry. I love being a part of the community for the camaraderie and friendly faces. Wellington has so much potential and I think we will become a hub for artists and community engagement if we can keep updating the town.
