National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month

This July let’s take a minute to recognize the mental health of our diverse communities. Mental health practices are important in maintaining a positive self-image and building the life we all deserve.

If this month has been tough on you, then take the time you need for self-care to replenish your energy. Minority stress can be a difficult feeling to describe or pinpoint. Recognizing it can help motivate you to work on the foundation of self-love that we all want for you.

Remember that you have people in your corner, and there are some amazing people that you have yet to meet!

This is the time of year that we can all take a step back and feel the warm summer breeze on our skin while we have our feet grasping the dew-kissed grass next to the most beautifully colored flowers.

The azure skies carry the promise of adventure and joy. If you need to catch up on any activities, this is the time to do it.

Summer is a great time to practice self-care. Spend the needed time to rejuvenate your mind, body, and spirit. This looks different for everyone, and there’s no specific or ‘right’ way to do it. Just be you!

Community Festivities

However you decide to spend the 4th of July holiday, let it be a great opportunity to see family, friends, and pets! There are many fun and adventurous activities that you can take part in. Fireworks can be a fun way to celebrate, but if fireworks aren’t your thing, there are so many different options.

Here are some additional options for some great fun:

  • Outdoor movie night with a blanket, popcorn, and smores
  • Jam out to a fun playlist to bust out your best dance moves
  • Play some outdoor games like cornhole or a water balloon toss
  • Backyard BBQ for whole family to enjoy
  • Make some sweet treats
  • Parade watching

These are some helpful resources to celebrate
