EVLT'S NEW BRAND

We want you to be the first to see our new logo and the story behind our refreshed brand. We are proud of this moment in our history, as we are able to create more meaningful connections with our community, find inspiring ways to tell our story, and further our work protecting the wild places and lands we love. We are dedicated to ensuring that this land remains the foundation of our community, the driver of our economy, a sanctuary for wildlife, and a treasured space for social, emotional, and physical health. Forever. For All.

WHY A REFRESHED BRAND?

While the Eagle Valley Land Trust has done impactful work in the Eagle Valley for more than four decades, many people who live, work, and visit here don’t fully grasp the important role we play or the extent of our conservation work. We knew we needed to find fresh new ways to explain and celebrate how what we do impacts landowners, recreationists, nature lovers, wildlife, and our entire community – now and in perpetuity.

THIS WAS THE RIGHT TIME TO TELL OUR STORY IN A CREATIVE, WELCOMING WAY

As we move to our new location, we will be more accessible and visible to all. This move provides a unique opportunity to update our logo, create a website that is more navigable, and explain our history, story, and mission in a passionate and memorable way.

Our refreshed brand will:

• highlight our accomplishments and help more people understand and value our work

• connect more individuals of all ages and backgrounds with the outdoors

• serve as a trusted resource to our community and visitors

• encourage participation in conservation and inspire a new generation of global stewards

• inspire financial support and long-lasting partnerships

Thank you for supporting EVLT, caring deeply about the lands we cherish, and joining us as we move into the future more dedicated than ever to our mission and vision.

STAY TUNED FOR THE LAUNCH OF OUR NEW WEBSITE...

We can't do this without you

Over the last few years, our trails, rivers, and open spaces have seen unprecedented use. On top of that, these undeveloped open spaces, the ones that wildlife and our community depend on, have begun disappearing at an alarming rate. It’s an indication that a lot more conservation work is required to balance the needs of our community, economy, and wildlife as they descend into our valley floor to weather the oncoming winter.

We need to protect our community’s most important lands, wildlife habitats, and nature-based economy. It’s a big job for a small organization. We can’t do this without you.

All donations made online now through December 5th count toward Colorado Gives Day and the $1M+ Incentive Fund.

Championing wildlife as the seasons change

Sunrise breaks over the Cordillera Ridgeline. Below, in the meadow where they bedded down the evening before, Rocky Mountain elk shake the frost off their coats. They spent much of the spring and summer roaming this alpine landscape, feeding on lush grasses, forbs, and wildflowers. But the seasons are rapidly shifting, and the herd knows that the shorter days and colder nights mean that soon the best foraging will be found lower in the valley.

In the coming weeks, as the last leaves fall from the trees and snow begins to blanket the upper slopes, the elk will make their descent.

Like mule deer and bighorn sheep, elk have an extensive range and move according to seasonal food availability. Their migration patterns date back centuries, although changes in land use, ecosystem composition, and climate have forced elk to adjust their seasonal timing. Fortunately for our local herds, the residents of Eagle County have made wildlife habitat conservation a priority...
