Dear Holy Family University Faculty, Staff, and Students:

Welcome to the start of the fall semester!

The beginning of the new academic year is always a special time.

As I walked across campus this morning, the energy was palpable. From new students eager to find their way around campus, to faculty and staff excited to help them with registration, settling in to the residence halls, and finding their way to the dining hall, each encounter is a symbol of hope and promise.

Of course this year, the sights and sounds of a vibrant campus life are especially significant as they mark our return to being together after more than a year of virtual engagement.

These past 18 months taught us how much we value one another, and they demonstrate our dedication to ensuring one another’s success. For example, while our community was largely off-campus, the University used this time to enhance the campus experience for all. From upgraded technology in each of our classrooms, to the beautification of outdoor spaces, a state-of the-art Center for Teaching and Learning designed to ensure student success and professional development for faculty, and of course, our brand new turf field which will soon be unveiled–we have invested not only in ways to keep our community safe, but in ways to keep our community thriving, engaged, and successful in pursuit of educational excellence.

None of this would have been possible without our truly committed faculty and staff. I extend my deepest gratitude to all those whose tremendous efforts have helped to make our fall opening a success.

While I have had the privilege of meeting many of you at events such as our New Student Orientation sessions, the fall Opening Meeting for faculty and staff, and Move-In Day, I look forward to seeing each of you on campus.

I wish you a safe and healthy fall, and I thank each of you for the important role you play in helping to keep our campus community safe and together.

Onward & upward in faith & family,

Anne Prisco, Ph.D.
